Suggestion
[edit]- Do whatever you can to only list each major person once. No need to list Lasseter et al more than once. SpikeJones 21:18, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
- Can anybody help? Martini833 01:19, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
- I reformatted the info into the first table line. Feel free to add to it. It should be more readable. One request: the key letters should always be in the same order in each box across the entire table, separated by spaces. BAD: DEPC GOOD: D E P C SpikeJones 02:46, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
- Along the same point, this page is for "notable" staff - ie Director, Writer, Producer, Co-Producer. Storyboard artists or voice work will not qualify somebody as being notable -- otherwise the list will need to include every person who worked on the film making this list completely unmanagable. If there needs to be a 5th (or 6th etc) category added, please discuss it here first before adding it. TIA. SpikeJones 15:23, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
I see what you mean but i would add some of the NOTABLE storyboard or animators such as glenn mcqueen and those other guys who were [reviously on the template. I also ask that you tell more people about this page please because it definately NEEDS help. Martini833 18:26, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
- The issue is going to be how to identify specific storyboard folks as animators as notable vs ones who aren't. It's easier to exclude all than specify who is or isn't notable. SpikeJones 18:44, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
To tell you the truth i made this only because there neede to be a place to list pixar employees and the template was going to be huge if i put them there. So let's just put everyone with an article. Martini833 22:13, 26 April 2007 (UTC) Brenda Chapman?Martini833 03:08, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
- Assuming you're asking who Brenda Chapman is, when Disney filed paperwork to the SEC regarding their purchase of Pixar, Brenda was one of the people named as a principle creative talent. SpikeJones 03:58, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
Notable staff?
[edit]I'm concerned about some of the additions that have been made to this page of potentially non-notable Pixar staff. This was intended to be for "Pixar's primary directors and creative executives", but seems to have moved on from there -- which is fine -- except some of the people listed are linked to pages that simply say "Memper of Pixar staff". (I expect those pages to be speedily deleted). Thoughts from others? SpikeJones 11:02, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
- Just wanted to reiterate that this page specifically calls for "Pixar's primary directors and creative executives", not every person who ever worked on any aspect of a Pixar film. That should also cut down on the amount of "stretch" the page is under. SpikeJones (talk) 01:38, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
Brenda Chapman
[edit]Good day, everyone.
I am just wondering where the source of Brenda Chapman being a "writer" for Pixar's "Up" is...forgive me if I missed something that came out.
Thanks,
Gasduude
Screen stretch
[edit]The table stretches the screen a lot. I suggest separating it into 3 separate tables, one for Feature Films, one for Shorts, and one for Digital Shorts. Kevinmon (talk) 20:05, 20 September 2009 (UTC)
- I agree. Its far too stretched out. We could either separate it into 3 tables or a single table for each movie. For example:
Toy Story
[edit]Employee | No. of roles | Role(s) |
---|---|---|
John Lasseter | 3 | Director, Writer, Visual Effects |
Joe Ranft | 3 | Voice of Lenny, Writer, Story Artist |
Jeff Pidgeon | 3 | Voice of Squeeze Toy Aliens/Mr. Spell/Robot, Animator, Story Artist |
Jason Katz | 2 | Animator, Story Artist |
Glenn McQueen | 1 | Animator |
William Reeves | 2 | Animator, Visual Effects |
Pete Docter | 2 | Writer, Animator |
Bob Peterson | 1 | Animator |
Gary Rydstrom | 1 | Sound |
Ralph Eggleston | 1 | Art Department |
Andrew Stanton | 4 | Voice of Commercial Chorus, Writer, Animator, Story Artist |
Lee Unkrich | 1 | Editorial Department |
Bud Luckey | 2 | Story, Art Department |

You could just do it this way, where the letters used would stand for the names of people.
Film title | Director | Co-Director | Writer | Voiced character(s) | Animator | Editorial Department | Executive Producer | Production Designer | Art Department | Sound | Story Artist | Visual Effects |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Toy Story | JL | JL, JR, PD, AS | JR, JP, AS | JP, JK, GM, WR, PD, BP, AS, BL | LU | RE | GR | JR, JP, JK, AS, BL | JL, WR | |||
A Bug's Life | ||||||||||||
Toy Story 2 | ||||||||||||
Monsters, Inc |

- Done I decided to just do it. Chickenmonkey 04:36, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
Problematic sourcing
[edit]The entire article is sourced to IMDB and whether IMDB is reliable source for cast and most other credits is a matter of dispute. ☆ Bri (talk) 05:47, 12 March 2018 (UTC)
