Table update

[edit]

Several updates and improvements have been made this week to the main Phi Kappa Sigma article and its subpages, including this one. The list of chapters is now comprehensive, rendered into table format as is standard for the Fraternity and Sorority Project. The earlier version of the page split out active chapters from the list of inactive chapters, which came below. Now, each column of the table is sortable so that readers can easily sort to select Active groups or Colonies. Points to be addressed:

  • A few dates are missing; Project editors would appreciate if staff or members of those specific chapters would provide updates.
  • Should there be interest in providing exact dates of chapter installation, these may be added using this template and syntax: {{dts|1850|10|19}}, which renders to October 19, 1850. The DTS template allows the sort function to work properly for the date of original installation. There is no need to add a DTS template to closure dates or secondary re-establishment dates.
  • There is one school name at this writing which is redlinked, indicating that there is no corresponding article for the school. This is Long Island Medical College. The Project group is aware that this is a missing article, and several of us are working to complete this and about 40 other school articles for long-dormant schools that once hosted Greek chapters. I believe that the Long Island Medical College was the correct name for the site of Phi Kappa Sigma's original Psi chapter, which for clarity we have designated Psi (1). An earlier version of this page had linked it to Long Island University, but the references for these schools do not show a linkage. Should PKS HQ have definitive answers for this mystery, please respond here with your analysis and a citable reference. Jax MN (talk) 20:05, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
