Oz

[edit]

None of the Oz section sounds like it was written as an encyclopedia; it requires extensive clean up

Zanghi

[edit]

Everybody cool with me adding Don Zanghi in the Italian Inmates column? He was longlasting and important.Revan ltrl (talk) 01:53, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Zellman

[edit]

Do anyone know what's the full name or intend to write an article about the lawyer used by most of Oz's inmates when appealing? (I recall the trial for O'reilly's brother and the one for that IRA guy at the moment, but I assume most of the other appeals were done by him as well) 80.178.33.105 11:44, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Restructure

[edit]

This was tagged for cleanup

Hopefully you won't be needing this anymore. Everything is structured by gang affiliation, and alphabetically by surname.

I also removed an unnecessary [citation] tag related to Gov. Devlin. He's an evil, schemeing little prick, anyone who watches the show knows that, no citation needed.

It seems this page is still a mess. Why is the prison staff a subsection of Inmates? Why are sponsors at the top of the page? NVSBLmonster (talk) 03:47, 10 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Inclusion\Exclusion of characters

[edit]

This seems to supposed to be a comprehensive list of characters in Oz, but there are many at least reasonably notable characters missing, we should add all characters from the show, no matter how minor. Sparta 00:52, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Irish Gang?

[edit]

There has never been an Irish gang, has there?

Yes, there is an Irish gang in OZ. Even though it's very small and has no real power, McManus announces all the ten gangs in the second episode of the second season, and one them is the The Irish.Revan ltrl (talk) 01:51, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Massive Merging

[edit]

Oz is a great show and all but I defy anyone who tells me that all of these minor characters deserve wikipedia pages of their own. Granted many of the characters have been impactful on culture and I can certainly understand the logic of having pages for the main cast and even characters of a higher level of impact ranging from Mukada to maybe even characters as minor as Burr Redding, but what is the logic behind having characters like Kipekemie Jara who had less then ten lines over the course of the couple episodes he was in have their own articles? They may be relevant to Oz but not enough to justify their own pages.

Characters of OzCharacters of Oz (TV series) — I think this page should be renamed to distinguish from List of Oz characters and to match the main article Oz (TV series). However, I thought it best to gain consensus first rather than just move it myself. –anemoneprojectors00:31, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ricardo Alvarez ?

[edit]

Why does 'Ricardo Alvarez' redirect to this page? There's not even anyone currently named that found in the article. Seems it should lead to 'Ricardo Álvarez' which is a disambiguation page for the many people with that same name. I don't know anything about the redirect process, so if someone could help, that'd be...helpful. - Slow Graffiti (talk) 19:19, 1 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've fixed the redirect as Slow Graffiti as suggested; good idea. Klbrain (talk) 10:06, 14 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Needs massive cleanup asap

[edit]

This page is a mess, bad English, random capitalized words, broken sentences. It's not even close to Wikipedia standards. I can't do the cleanup right now, but somebody should, please and thank you. Kumagoro-42 08:00, 24 October 2017 (UTC)

Wikipedia

[edit]

Does every character need their own article? There is no reason for it. No other Encyclopedias have articles on these characters (thank god). Most Wikipedia users never even heard of Oz. I am noming them for deltion.THEFlint Shrubwood (talk) 01:35, 21 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

There is a flaw in this site's policies to allow articles on certain fictional subjects like Oz characters or Zelda characters. Those characters aren't notable. The good news is Wikipedia will be dead eventually and those articles will be dead with it. Wikipedia has many articles on things that really aren't notable but users pretend are notable. What a fucking pity. THEFlint Shrubwood (talk) 04:01, 21 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

There are four articles up for deletion from this editor;

The deletion nominations were put up but quickly closed by the editor to make some kind of WP:POINT; they have since been re-opened, and Shrubwood was blocked 72 hours for disruption. The above certainly is not an appropriate response to our policies on fictional characters, and they should have let interested editors know about the noms they did put up (they did the minimum, but a couple were pre-creation restriction IPs that have no way to log in and see the deletion notice); thus I am providing that notice now here. Nate (chatter) 02:14, 22 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

All four were properly closed as redirect to the proper sections for their 'unit' in this article. Nate (chatter) 08:09, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
