Minor vs. Recurring Characters

[edit]

Anybody have any ideas for a benchmark? BigD527 22:53, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I really don't know what the diffrence is.ShadowWriter 21:55, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Here's what I think:

A minor character is a person who appears as part of a story arc, one of multiple episodes. These would include: Ariel Alderman, James Sutherland, Annie McNamara, Gina Russo, etc... A recurring character is a person who shows up from time to time, but who we know is always present in the Nip/Tuck world: Merrill Bobolit, Ms. tater, Mrs. Grubman, etc... Then there are some people on the fence. Bobbi Broderick, for example, appeared in two episodes but was part of a very important story arc. Yet, she hasn't even been alluded to since. I mean, if what we have now isn't causing any issues with anyone, then we should just leave it, or make changes as we feel necessary, and I guess if someone objects we should handle it case-by-case? Fair use rationale for Image:Christiantroy.jpg

[edit]

Image:Christiantroy.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 20:13, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Julia: Main character vs. Major character

[edit]

There has been some dispute over whether Julia should be considered a main/major character. She was one of the three main character in Seasons 1-3, but she was demoted to a major character in Seasons 4-6. I believe that since we are acknowleding the entire series, rather than just focusing on how it ended, Julia should appear in the main character slot. I believe it is irrelivant if her character was dropped to a major character in the later seasons, because we aren't just talking about the later seasons but rather the whole series. Now, I proposed we can make an idication in Julia's summary about being bumped down to a major character in Seasons 4-6. Geeky Randy (talk) 23:56, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
