[edit]

I've been working on revamping the Guggenheim list pages for more than 2yrs and, nearly every year, there is a tremendous amount of confusion across sources over what year a fellow received their award. This is particularly prevalent when the fellow gets a renewal and/or are given a second (third, fourth, etc.) award, or if they delay their award (i.e., Dr Jones is awarded in 1945 but doesn't study until 1946--some sources will say Dr Jones got the award in 1946). Modern online sources are even more confusing and unreliable. A lot of them leave off if a fellow gets multiple awards, even if the awards are a decade+ apart.

I am commenting on this year specifically because of the presence of the post-service fellowships. I have read sources that say 36 awards were given, others say 41, and I identified at least 48. The Guggenheim website is correct most of the time but I have found mistakes there as well, which makes it even more difficult to pin down the correct numbers.

Anyway, if anyone has any ideas of how best to fix this issue, please feel free to add the changes. Puppies937 (talk) 19:41, 10 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
