More mummies I could add to the list (eventually)

[edit]

Once I collect some more info about these mummies in various museums' collections, I might add them to the list, or anyone else who happens to be watching this article, please feel free too:

Chau Chak Wing Museum (Sydney, Australia):

  • Horus (male, 7 years old, Roman Period, c. 100 AD, Thebes, NMR26.1)
  • Mer-Neith-it-es (female, 26th Dynasty, 664-525 BC, Saqqara, NMR.29); already in the unknown list, could probably add more info to the list
  • Coffin of Meruah (more info needed on whether mummy in the coffin is actually Meruah)
  • Coffin of Padiashaikhet (more info needed on whether mummy in the coffin is actually Padiashaikhet)

Rijksmuseum van Oudheden (Leiden, Netherlands):

  • Harerem (male, 45-55 years old, 25th-26th Dynasties, 722-525 BC, Thebes; AMM 23-a)
  • Sensaos (female, 16 years old, Roman Period, 109 AD; AMM 8-a); this mummy might actually belong in the other list for royalty?
  • Ta(net)kharu or Tadis (female, 40-52 years old, 22nd Dynasty, about 800 BC, Thebes; EG-ZM109)
  • Unknown man (44-55 years old, Third Intermediate Period or Late Period; 1076-723 BC or 722-332 BC, possibly Thebes; EG-ZM155)
  • Unknown woman (22nd Dynasty, about 817 BC, Thebes; AMM 17-b)

South Australian Museum (Adelaide, Australia):

  • Mummy of Nubian Priest (male, “died around the time of Christ”; A40322)
  • Renpit-Nefert (female, buried 2500 or 2400 years ago, Akhmim; A40016 or A40039)

Should the Qurna Queen be listed here? While widely speculated to be royal its not proven.©Geni (talk) 18:28, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Geni having read only the NMS article on the burial, I would probably add her to royalty :) Merytat3n (talk) 11:10, 2 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
