EastEnders SweetHearts

[edit]

Why was this removed from the list, it aired last night on BBC 3 and was narrated by Phil Daniels it should be included since it was the longest episode of Eastenders Revealed yet! Before you say anything, it WAS an episode of EastEnders revealed it used the same style and layout and was only named otherwise because it was a special revealed episode. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 172.188.85.141 (talkcontribs).

It was not an episode of EastEnders Revealed, and has not been called EastEnders Revealed. Take a look at http://www.bbc.co.uk/eastenders/news/news_content/news_20070118_n2.shtml, you will see no mention of EastEnders Revealed. — AnemoneProjectors (talk) 20:23, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

EE revealed

[edit]

Should we merge into here?GunGagdinMoan 12:47, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There's a long list of episodes... I'd merge EastEnders Xtra here first and then consider Revealed... AnemoneProjectors (talk) 12:51, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Which I've done. What about A Question of EastEnders? I always thought that was a pointless article. AnemoneProjectors (talk) 13:04, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I think all spin-offs should be merged. Size wont matter so long as we section them and redirect. What do you think?GunGagdinMoan 13:27, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
We dont have to have the credit screenies either I suppose.GunGagdinMoan 13:28, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah I say merge EastEnders Revealed and A Question of EastEnders, redirect, and remove screenshots of the spin-off episodes, but keep Xtra and Revealed screenies if we keep their infoboxes which I think we should. AnemoneProjectors (talk) 13:34, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed, and yeah I think we should definitely keep the infoboxes. I'd never heard of EE Xtra until now!GunGagdinMoan 13:48, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I only knew of EE Xtra through Wikipedia! It was a red button thing. AnemoneProjectors (talk) 13:59, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Should we remove some of the subheadings for A-Z of EE and family album. I like what you have done putting them on bullets and I think they should go under other documentaries too.GunGagdinMoan 14:09, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes perhaps have sections for Revealed and Xtra, then other and write about A-Z, Family Album and The Whole Truth before the "new breed" documentaries. But don't bullet point those three, just give each one a paragraph. AnemoneProjectors (talk) 14:31, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Incidentally, http://pages.prodigy.net/glc/wrhp/html/wr_tvae.htm has information on more shows, like EastEnders: It's Your Party, that aren't included here. AnemoneProjectors (talk) 14:35, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There's so much ambiguity regarding EastEnders Revealed. Look here, http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006qmjb/episodes and episodes that are not listed in the EastEnders Revealed section on Wikipedia, such as 'Whodunits' and 'The Return of Sam Mitchell' are classified as EastEnders Revealed by the BBC. How can this ambiguity be resolved? 188.74.65.165 (talk) 13:50, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes there is. I noticed on iPlayer that EastEnders: The Two Faces of Lucas is listed as an episode of EE Revealed, but the titles do not use the Revealed name. Whodunits was definitely just called "EastEnders Whodunits". I think they're all being listed on iPlayer under the Revealed name because that's a general name that people know and it would mean they're all in one place, I guess. But there are definitely shows that don't use the Revealed name though they are similar. They're always announced before they air and I've seen most of them so I'm confident that we have all the Revealed episodes in the EE Revealed section and all the non-Revealed documentaries in the "other documentaries" section. AnemoneProjectors (talk) 14:32, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ah ok, but would it be worth mentioning the amibiguity in the article? Also on the iPlayer website 'Whodunits' is spelt with one 'n' unlikes in the article here, and an episode is titled Nick Cotton Returns yet on the article here it's called Comebacks. Who's right? 188.74.65.165 (talk) 02:43, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know to be honest, as I didn't see either of them and was away from the internet at the time. AnemoneProjectors (talk) 16:01, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

EastEnders Slater family spin off

[edit]

Correct me if i'm wrong, but wasn't there an EastEnders spinoff about the Slaters going on holiday? I dont think it was ever shown on TV, but was available to buy. Shouldn't it be included here? Bleaney (talk) 21:41, 10 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It was a DVD, not a TV spin-off, so it belongs in EastEnders spin-offs, which is where it is. AnemoneProjectors 23:36, 10 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi found these on BBC Genome, not sure how relevant they are.

  • Streets Apart
  • A Morning with EastEnders
  • The Take: EastEnders
  • EastEnders - Life after the Square
  • Points of View Sunday 5 September 2004 17.25
  • From Grange Hill to Albert Square.... and Beyond
  • EastEnders - Fighting Fit
  • EASTENDERS 15 Happy Birthday EastEnders
  • The National Lottery Live joins EastEnders
  • That's EastEnders
  • EastEnders - Life after the Square
  • Trevor and Little Mo
  • EastEnders Greatest Hits
  • THE TAKE:EASTENDERS - CHRISTMAS PUB QUIZ

Thanks Kelvin 101 (talk) 14:28, 4 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Kelvin 101: Thanks for that, do you have the links for them to hand? I'll search for them myself now but if you have them without having to search yourself again that would be helpful. —anemoneprojectors18:20, 4 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Don't worry actually, I'll just comment on each one now... they're dead easy for me to get! —anemoneprojectors18:21, 4 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Kelvin 101:

  • Streets Apart
    • An actor from EE and one from Neighbours looking at the wildlife of London and Sydney - not relevant
  • A Morning with EastEnders
    • This seems relevant as the cast were there talking about EE, and it was an EE special
  • The Take: EastEnders
    • EE special of a show called The Take. Seems relevant to me but see below
  • EastEnders - Life after the Square
    • 100% relevant
  • Points of View Sunday 5 September 2004 17.25
    • "Terry Wogan tackles viewers' comments as the programme goes behind-the-scenes at EastEnders" - POV is usually about viewers' comments about different shows on the BBC, so I don't know how relevant the "behind-the-scenes" part is. I wouldn't include it.
  • From Grange Hill to Albert Square.... and Beyond
    • "Documentary celebrating the 21st anniversary of Grange Hill" - that features actors who were in both. Not relevant
  • EastEnders - Fighting Fit
    • "Four EastEnders actors begin a bid to shape up in the first of five programmes" - an EE special that's only as relevant as, say, the Weakest Link. If we include that I suppose we should include this.
  • EASTENDERS 15 Happy Birthday EastEnders
    • Also Happy Birthday EastEnders from 2 days earlier - both are relevant as they are celebrating the anniversary, basically 2 parts of the same show.
  • The National Lottery Live joins EastEnders
    • "This week's lucky winning numbers are announced live from Albert Square during celebrations marking the tenth birthday of EastEnders" - probably could be mentioned as an anniversary celebration
  • That's EastEnders
    • "A special edition of the comedy panel game That's Showbusiness!" - again another similar to The Weakest Link.
  • EastEnders - Life after the Square
    • Duplicated - see above.
  • Trevor and Little Mo
    • Looks like possibly a missing episode of EE Revealed - not listed on BARB ratings, which I was hoping could shed some light on that. But seems to have been broadcast the day after "Mark Fowler's Story", which we have as a Revealed under "Mark Fowler", and with a slightly wrong date...
  • EastEnders Greatest Hits
    • Looks like a small series, could be added, though don't know what it is actually about.
  • THE TAKE:EASTENDERS - CHRISTMAS PUB QUIZ
    • I couldn't specifically find this but the episode of The Take listed above featured a pub quiz, and it was at Christmas time... there's also The Take on EastEnders. Would help if we knew what The Take was, really.

Hope that helps. —anemoneprojectors18:50, 4 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The Take was "a combination of themed archive clips and programmes"([1]). They also did a Doctor Who special... so it can be added, but I'm sure the pub quiz one is part of the other one. —anemoneprojectors18:53, 4 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@AnemoneProjectors: Thanks for that I compiled that list a while ago, when we went through all the episode dates on Genome but forgot I had it.

It looks like EastEnders Greatest Hits are about the popular characters with interviews from the cast and archive clips.

It looks like The Take seems to be about programmes from bbc archive with interviews from the cast [2] thanks Kelvin 101 (talk) 19:26, 4 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

So EastEnders Greatest Hits, having multiple episodes, could have its own section like Revealed and Xtra do. Many of the others will go under "Other specials", as in EE specials of other shows. EastEnders - Life after the Square would go on the Other documentaries section. Trevor and Little Mo probably goes under Revealed. -- AnemoneProjectors 21:47, 4 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@AnemoneProjectors: Not sure if these are any good as well

Antique Roadshow 40th-anniversary tour Although not mentioned on the page the BBC One announcer mentioned that it takes a trip to Albert Square. Coincidentally it's on tonight BBC One at 8pm.

Thanks Kelvin 101 (talk) 17:44, 24 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I would say certainly no to the Celebrity Juice specials. The Graham Norton one looks like it should be included, maybe also the One Show, I did watch that and have included it in my draft for Peggy's exit storyline. Auntie's EastEnders Birthday Bloomers and Outtake TV should be included. Antiques Roadshow should be watched to establish how relevant it is. The intro to the programmes says they have visited the EE set but it will be shown in the upcoming weeks, that particular episode is in Castle Howard. — anemoneprojectors 23:11, 24 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@AnemoneProjectors: Found a few more.

Thanks Kelvin 101 (talk) 14:28, 27 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@AnemoneProjectors:

It would appear the first episode of EastEnders Revealed was broadcast 20/12/1998 but I cannot find it on BBC Genome only on Getty Images. https://www.gettyimages.co.uk/detail/video/part-of-a-night-of-progs-devoted-to-the-soap-opera-news-footage/BBC_LDXW015B

The only other related programme with the same date appears to be something called The Take: EastEnders https://genome.ch.bbc.co.uk/64045c9455df405b88678a70e5b6096d https://www.gettyimages.co.uk/detail/video/intro-to-a-christmas-quiz-between-eastenders-fans-and-the-news-footage/BBC_LDXW016W

not sure if that is worth noting or not.

Thanks Kelvin 101 (talk) 15:14, 10 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Kelvin 101: Hi, we already talked about The Take, see my comment on 4 June 2017. I don't know why Getty thinks it was an episode of Revealed. Genome is more reliable in my opinion.
I think programmes which only feature cast members but aren't about EastEnders should not be included, so Pointless Celebrities would be out and I feel the same would be true of Telly Addicts (I used to watch that show and I can't see that those episodes would have been particularly about EastEnders but more just featuring the cast, unless you can provide links on Genome to the individual episodes.) Unless of course we go with The Weakest Link rule and if a show features ONLY EastEnders cast then we include it.
The Friday Night Armistice is a satirical comedy. The episode you mention is here [3]. It shouldn't be included.
World In Action was on ITV and I can't find any information about this episode. Can you provide a link for that?
The episode of Omnibus is about soap writers visiting Kazakhstan, so not relevant.
I can't even find out what Goldmaster is or was. Is it a game show?
Has anything from the previous discussions been added in? — 🌼📽️AnemoneProjectors💬 21:29, 6 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Also, the Albert Square episode of Antiques Roadshow is here (not the link previously given). It was filmed on the set but featured items from the whole world of entertainment (props and scripts of various films). However, "Presenter Fiona Bruce also drops into The Queen Vic for a chat with actresses June Brown and Letitia Dean." Which makes it not really relevant as any TV show can interview a cast member and we're not going to list them as spin-offs or television specials! It could be mentioned on the Walford article that this episode was once filmed on the Albert Square set, but I'm not even sure it's relevant there. — 🌼📽️AnemoneProjectors💬 21:38, 6 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
