Cleanup

[edit]

How would one like the novels section cleaned up? -- AnemoneProjectors (talk) 18:09, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, if you're going to include fiction in there (I can't remember who added the novels, but prior to them, "Further Reading" just meant non-fiction) you need to add the diaries of Tiff etc. for completeness Stephenb (Talk) 07:53, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'll do that! Also, do we really need the magazine article section? There have been thousands of articles on EastEnders - what's the point in listing these ones if there's hardly any chance people will get to read them? Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 12:50, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
They always seem to have been there..! I agree - they're not notable, so we should get rid of them. If we do that, we can rename the page to EastEnders books too (the map is, effectively, a book - it has an ISBN!) - this is consistent with its category etc. Stephenb (Talk) 12:43, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Who's Who in EastEnders

[edit]

Check the inside pages and the ISBN link for the book's title. "Your ultimate guide to" is just cover decoration, not mentioned on the spine either. Stephenb (Talk) 21:37, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Who's who EE.jpg

[edit]

Image:Who's who EE.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Requested move

[edit]

EastEnders booksList of EastEnders books — To fall in line with the guidance of WP:LISTNAME. Ash (talk) 16:39, 3 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I moved it. No need to list it on the requested moves page cos it's not controversial. AnemoneProjectors (talk) 16:52, 3 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Notability?

[edit]

I had half a mind to do this page up in line with bibliography conventions, but I've hit an early stumbling block with Wikipedia:WikiProject Bibliographies#Notability of bibliography articles, based on WP:LISTN ("Notability of lists is based on the group. A list topic is considered notable if it has been discussed as a group or set by independent reliable sources"). I can't find anything at all to support the notability of this topic. If anyone else knows of, or can find any independent reliable sources discussing EastEnders books as a group, that would be fab. Otherwise, perhaps this should be moved into Project space, ala Wikipedia:WikiProject EastEnders/List of births, marriages and deaths in EastEnders and Wikipedia:WikiProject EastEnders/List of residences in EastEnders. We made this becaues the "Further reading" section of the main EE article was too long. However, if you want to merge it somewhere, EastEnders spin-offs is ideal. –anemoneprojectors14:37, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I hadn't thought of that target and have made a start on it now. Do the cast biographies count as "spin-offs"? I'll move them over anyway - they're easily enough removed if not. Frickative 15:59, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
They're not really spin-offs, are they? I guess we could lose them. Good job anyway. –anemoneprojectors13:22, 5 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks so much for making the WP:ACCESS changes - I totally forgot about it, and by the time I remembered, you'd already taken care of it :) I hope you enjoy Bushell's book - I found it a bit juvenile in places, but I seem to remember that it did make me laugh in others. Related to this topic, I PROD'd the two EastEnders novel articles that remained (I originally intended to work on the first one, at least, but found no sources anywhere), so I think the corresponding EastEnders book template and category may be defunct. The category can be speedied after being empty for four days, but could I possibly ask you to delete the template, if you don't foresee any future need for it? Frickative 22:53, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes the template can go. The category too. Was the Bushall book useful for Wikipedia at all? Has it been used? –anemoneprojectors13:02, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It's been nearly two years since I read it, but I seem to remember there was quite a lot that could be used as reception (paraphrased, perhaps, because he's quite crass). I never got round to it myself though, and I don't think anyone else has added stuff from it. Frickative 13:20, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I figured it would all be reception. Maybe I'll try it one day. –anemoneprojectors14:28, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
