Broken up seasons into templates
[edit]I have broken up the seasons into different templates so that the page takes up less space, and is no longer on the long pages list. If you have any questions, please write to me on my talk page. --No1lakersfan 21:12, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
- These templates seem to not be in use. Judging from the contents of this page now, I trust this was all reformatted at one point. I have nominated the old ER templates for deletions. TheDJ (talk • contribs • WikiProject Television) 21:14, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
Adding episode-specific Emmy info
[edit]Hello. I am adding episode-specific Emmy Awards info to the appropriate episodes. I had planned on citing IMDB as a source, but when I attempted to use the citation templates, I had some difficulty. I think it's because each of the seasons are now templates. Can someone help me with this?
As an example, for "Love's Labor Lost" in season 1, I intended to add the following:
- <ref name="Love's Labor Lost">{{cite web | title=Awards for "ER" (1994) | work=IMDB| url=http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0108757/awards | accessdate=2006-06-11}}</ref>
And then add <references/> to a newly-created "References" section on List of ER episodes. However, this doesn't bring in the references.
Any help would be appreciated. Cheers, Lbbzman 05:00, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
Plagiarism
[edit]I reverted back to the April 1, 2006 version because every single episode summary (edited in by 67.34.214.249, 67.34.214.218, and 67.34.215.68) was copied, word for word, spelling and grammatical errors intact, from the TV.com ER pages. I am a frequent contributor to those pages, and have written quite a few of those summaries. I don't appreciate having my words copied without permission or proper citation. Many, many people have contributed to the TV.com summaries, and it is not right to undermine their hard work. I encourage people to fill in the missing summaries with accounts written in their own words. 24.21.87.178 23:13, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
- Are TV.com's user-submitted episode summaries officially copyrighted then? Jerkov 23:20, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
I read through the Wikipedia:Copyright pages, including the FAQ, and it would seem that they are, just like Wikipedia's user-submitted content is officially copyrighted. 24.21.87.178
TV.com copyrights its material, including user-submitted summaries. I've written all the summaries for the recent seasons, and agree with the user above; I DO NOT appreciate having my work picked up and reused without attribution, particularly given it violates policy here. Moreover, Wikipedia cannot copyright for itself material which is already under copyright. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Drmargi (talk • contribs) 15:12, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
Individual episode articles?
[edit]Has anyone considered writing individual episode articles? Many other TV shows (such as The O.C. and Friends) have an article for each episode, and this is something we can also do for ER. Any thoughts? objections? I'll be willing to contribute a lot of material (i.e. synopsis, information, episode image, guest starring, etc), and once we get going I'm sure others will join in. Let me know what everyone thinks of this! Jayden54 15:31, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Smaller Lists
[edit]Would breaking this up into smaller lists, like 2 or 3 seasons be better than this humongous list?
Bearingbreaker92 | Talk 16:30, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
Proposed for deletion - Not encyclopedic - this is a mere list.
[edit]This article is not encyclopedic. See "Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information". I propose that the article be deleted. Much of this material is visible on tv.com —Preceding unsigned comment added by CecilWard (talk • contribs) 13:12, 15 March 2007
- I don't agree with this prod, as there are dozens of other TV episode lists, and I don't think Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information applies here, so I've removed the prod. Feel free to take it to AFD though so we can get more input from other people. Jayden54 12:36, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
Copyright violation
[edit]I've checked and the summaries of the first several seasons (at least from seasons 1-4) on this page are all word-for-word copies of the summaries provided with the ER DVD's. This is a clear copyright violation and must be fixed immediately. --Hnsampat 01:42, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
- Okay, this obviously needs fixing, and I'm right now going to clear all the episode summaries, and then manually clear each one. We need to get the article back online asap. Jayden54 15:45, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
- Temporary article available at Talk:List of ER episodes/Temp. Jayden54 15:47, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
- I've removed all the summaries from seasons already released on DVD (1-7) since there is no real way to verify whether those summaries have been copied or not (I only have season 1-3 on DVD). The summaries for seasons 8-13 are still intact, and are unlikely to be copied since those seasons haven't been released on DVD yet. If someone can look into the summaries for seasons 4-7, and verify whether those are copied or not, I would be very grateful. Jayden54 16:05, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
- FYI, I was checking the summaries from seasons 8 and beyond and a simple Google search shows that many of them have been copied word-for-word from websites like TVGuide.com, ERHeadquarters.com, and other such websites. The problem is that this hasn't been done across-the-board. So, in the summaries for season 8 and beyond, we have many that do blatantly violate copyright and many that we can't be sure of. (They may be original or they may have been copied from print resources like seasons 1-4 were.) At this point, it might be best simply to rewrite the whole page. --Hnsampat 17:34, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
Summaries based on NBC short summary
[edit]Far too many summaries are being based on the inaccurate, and poorly written NBC short summaries. These tend to be written in advance of episodes by PR people who make errors and often emphasize minor character-driven plot points over the main story. As an example,, I've rewritten the summary for the last episode, which originally was worded to sound as though Pratt's personal issues were the central story, rather than a secondary plotline. The summary now reflects the prison doctor's story, which was the main plotline that gave the episode its name. This needs to be done with many, many others herein. Drmargi (talk) 15:17, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
- I agree. I also suggest to divide this really long list into more specific lists, perhaps an article per season, with summaries not obtained or based on NBC's or anything else. --Lord Opeth (talk) 18:07, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
Title for Episode 15.2
[edit]I have just reverted, for the second time, an alleged title for Episode 15.2 making its way around the message boards. The so-called title is noted at the top of one of the casting "sides" (script excerpts) and has been accepted with little thought by most of the usual places competing to get episode information on the web first, with no scrutiny. Supposed titles on these documents are often incorrect, and a message board is hardly a reliable source. Then there's the standards and practices issue that accompanies a title that includes an expletive. Let's just be patient and wait until the production company gives the real title to the casting agents. --Drmargi (talk) 15:02, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
Question about an epi
[edit]Which is the episode where Morris wants to publish and tries to shoot himself with an electric shock gun and then loses all the strength of his muscles due to it? and why isnt it mentioned? (it was quite important...)it's in season 14. thanks. Lucia (talk) 01:43, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:ER Season 2.jpg
[edit]The image Image:ER Season 2.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

Airdate for "Separation Anxiety" (15.11)
[edit]Editors persist in adding December 18, 2008 as the airdate for episode 15.11 without a reliable source. TV.com is not a reliable source because it is fan submitted, and the editor there probably accepted the date from someone who saw it here or another fan site. NBC has only released airdates through November 20 as of this writing, and the Christmas episode (#15.10) is always the last episode of the calendar year. DO NOT submit 15.11 as a 2008 episode unless you can source the date to NBC. Drmargi (talk) 01:54, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
Nielsen Ratings for all episodes!?!
[edit]For several episodes, especially for the season premieres and finales, the number of viewers (in millions) is written behind the episode summary. Could you please add the viewer numbers for all the other episodes and, if possible, the references for these sources. Thank you very much.--Stegosaurus Rex (talk) 18:20, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
- You as an editor can surely do that. Although I believe you wouldn't find the ratings for all of the episodes... Takeit10 (talk) 02:25, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
- No, I can't do that for all the episodes because I don't have the references for the numbers of the early seasons (1-6). So I please you to add the numbers of the early seasons because somebody of you seems to have the references.--Stegosaurus Rex (talk) 15:08, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
- I don't have the references and I think that it's highly unlikely that somebody else has. We're talking about more than 300 ratings numbers. It's too many episodes and a rating number for every single one of them is unecessary. Takeit10 (talk) 21:50, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

"..involvement in a babys critical condition.."

S11-6-229: "Time of Death" - Ray Liotta
[edit]Ray Liotta won an Emmy Award for this. Reference: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000501/awards . I think this is worth mentioning. The same applies to the ER season 11 article. What do you think? Thanks Kvsh5 (talk) 07:50, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
S11-22-245: "Sam learns that her son Alex has run away"
[edit]I believe it should be "ran away". Thanks 85.250.101.98 (talk) 16:48, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
