DYK fact

"Jacques Demers is the only Red Wings coach to have won the Jack Adams Award twice." The article itself states that Scotty Bowman also won it twice, as does the actual Bowman article. Am I missing something? Tan | 39 21:02, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Ah, I see now what was meant by this. However, this first sentence is pretty much totally false without the next one qualifying it. I'll wait a bit for any incoming opinions, then try to re-word this so it's more clear. Tan | 39 21:05, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Proposed changes

Proposed changes:

1. Update tables to comply with MOS:DTT - in order for the page to comply with the Manual of Style.
What this would entail-
Add column headers to the key table
Eliminate column headers in middle of coaches table
Only one Jack Adams entry. Having three does not make sense.
Restrict use of color to single cell.
Add caption text to table
Under the hood changes such as "scope="col"", etc.
2. Add sorting ability to coaches table.
3. Combine Scotty Bowman into one entry. He didn't serve two terms as coach, he missed five games. Explain why?
4. Replace dagger and asterisk with templates such as {{dagger}} to improve accessibility
5. Standardize use of symbols in key and table
6. Add alt text to every image per WP:ALT
7. Combine Abel and Delvecchio into one entry each. Separate terms can be denoted with multiple entries in the "Term" column and possibly explained with a note.
And also Doug Barkley, who is curretly listed as two different coaches.
8. Add OTL to Ties column or add new column
9. If terms are kept separate, update Abel's playoff stats in second term.
10. Add a third color and symbol for Hall of Fame and entire career with Red Wings, if necessary
11. Add playoffs win percentage.

I have posted a draft page with most of these changes applied (haven't done alt texts yet) at User:Rejectwater/sandbox/seasons. Rejectwater (talk) 19:29, 10 August 2013 (UTC)
After digging through it more I found dead links, incorrect stats, in accuracies in the lead, etc, so I went ahead and posted the change. Rejectwater (talk) 11:33, 11 August 2013 (UTC)

Stanley Cup winners

This list is missing the info on Stanley Cup winners, as is done for other list of coaches (e.g. Montreal, Toronto, Boston, etc.). This should be added. Thanks. -- P 1 9 9   01:27, 6 June 2016 (UTC)
