When will they learn
[edit]When will Americans understand that 75% of the food they eat came from Europe and other places... to say that Andouille, (French), fish and chips (English), potato salad (Kartoffelsalat)(German), apple pie (there were no apples in the US until the Dutch arrived), amongst others are American inventions... is beyond belief. STOP saying you invented all this stuff.. PLEASE — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.248.86.126 (talk) 23:21, 7 July 2014 (UTC)

- This article states outright that "bread" is an American food. Come on. 83.93.3.76 (talk) 02:50, 29 July 2016 (UTC)
Fish and chips might be an integral part of English slob cuisine, but they most certainly originate in France, just like many other self-attributed English inventions. Why not take your cry baby behavior to those pages? 65.129.94.57 (talk) 01:03, 7 June 2016 (UTC)
No wonder...
[edit]I should have known who created this article ;) Just now looked after throwing a bunch of stuff around and saw a familiar name. Will probably be doing much more on it. Just ping me or revert if you think I've goofed. And to the IP above, read the lede....it isn't about what we invented, it is about what we EAT. Dennis 2¢ 14:33, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
- I need to think on it, but the first section might need breaking down. Thinks like Thanksgiving Dinner (which as a whole, belongs) but the category type things like this, including the broader barbecue articles and such probably need to be put in their own section. I'm almost tempted to break out "meats" from "veggies", and maybe single items from dishes. Even sticking to just what is common (which means a few things could go), I can see this list getting 4x larger than it is. Dennis 2¢ 14:43, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
This page is missing "New Mexican Cuisine"

bread?
[edit]How is bread an American food? And dark/milk/white chocolate were created in Europe from an American ingredient. Is this list supposed to be anything that's ever been eaten in the Americas or is made from an ingredient from the Americas? valereee (talk) 11:50, 14 January 2019 (UTC)
Well, Mozzarella's Italian for example. --93.37.178.14 (talk) 23:17, 29 May 2019 (UTC)
