Incorrect dates?
[edit]Hi! The dates in the list for the 23rd and 37th Academy Awards do not match the dates given at oscars.org. Is there a specific reason for this? --MaryLou 19:41, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
- The official Academy Awards web site (Oscar Legacy – Academy Award Ceremonies From 1929 Through 2011) lists the following information:
- Both of these dates agree with the information currently contained within this article. Thanks. (Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 04:17, 17 March 2011 (UTC))
2013 Oscars
[edit]I don't think that the 2013 Oscars have happened yet (at least my calendar says it's still 2012), so why is Lincoln listed as "Best Picture" for the February 2013 ceremony? Is it something to do with the formatting of the table that it needs some text? WP is not a Crystal Ball... I've removed the reference and replaced it with "TBC". - The (obviously wrong) information was added by an anon IP. I've reverted the page. Ben (Major Bloodnok) (talk) 21:10, 24 October 2012 (UTC)
Ambiguity
[edit]Under the section for "Nominated hosts", this article states: "The following individuals have hosted (or co-hosted) the Academy Awards ceremony while also being a nominee." Does this mean that the person was the host in the same year that he was nominated? Or does it mean that one year he was a host and some other year he also happened to get nominated? I think – but I am not sure – that the second scenario is what is meant. To me, the wording more so implies the first scenario. That statement makes it sound like they were the host in the same year that they got their nomination. Either way, it needs to be made more clear. Thoughts? Joseph A. - I gave this some thought. I think that the list is referring to a person being the host in the same year that he was nominated. If it was simply the other scenario (meaning that one year, the person was a host and some other year, he also happened to get nominated), then the list would have quite a few extra names on it. For example, Whoopi Goldberg, Frank Sinatra, Liza Minnelli, and many, many others. So, I edited the wording for this chart to say: The following individuals have hosted (or co-hosted) the Academy Awards ceremony for the same year in which the individual was also a nominee. Thanks. Error in chart
[edit]The main events chart is missing a dividing line between the 1960 Oscars and 1961 in the venue column to mark where the Pantages venue ended and Santa Monica began. 68.146.52.234 (talk) 16:31, 25 February 2015 (UTC)
