Standard line ending for network traffic

[edit]

The article says that

CRLF was eventually adopted as the standard line ending for network traffic, a decision which, in retrospect, is generally considered to be a mistake.

Why? Who said this? --surueña 11:22, 28 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This page simply repeats what's on Newline and not as well, so I am merging it. Illuminatedwax 06:11, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Inappropriate redirect

[edit]

@Tom.Reding:The redirect of LF to NL is inappropriate. If Line Feed is not notable enough to warrant a separate article, then the redirect should be removed, unless there is a line feed section in another article to which it can point. --Shmuel (Seymour J.) @Chatul: I'm not the editor you're looking for; Onel5969 is. Regardless, your assertion "If Line Feed is not notable enough to warrant a separate article, then the redirect should be removed" is incorrect. Please see WP:R#DELETE for valid reasons for removing redirects (it sounds like you've misread and/or misunderstood #10). If you wish to further expound on LF, beyond what is currently written on NL, please edit NL.   ~ Tom.Reding (talkdgaf)  14:33, 28 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the ping Tom.Reding - and Chatul if you still feel the redirect is inappropriate, after reading the link Tom.Reding gave you above, the appropriate forum is WP:RFD. Onel5969 TT me 14:56, 28 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
