The instances where she is referred to as "Yu-ting" in the second and third paragraphs should be changed to "Lin" per Chinese naming convention. Estreyeria (talk) 20:00, 2 August 2024 (UTC)

IBA issues
[edit]"The IBA claimed to have used laboratories accredited by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) for testing, but WADA denied involvement in gender verification, stating it deals solely with anti-doping matters."
There's no source cited that supports the second part of this sentence. Nor does it refute the first part of the sentence. 2A00:23EE:1448:86B5:AD04:38D3:8EEE:F167 (talk) 14:39, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
- "The IBA said the tests were sent to two different laboratories that are accredited by the World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada).
- However, Wada has told BBC Sport it does not oversee gender tests and its work only relates to anti-doping matters."
- - the cited source. [1] Bluethricecreamman (talk) 02:22, 9 August 2024 (UTC)
- IBA claims should not be presented in an uncritical manner. They were suspended from the Olympics in 2019 and ultimately banned in 2023 for lack of governance and transparency. Their boss has been described as having deep ties to Russian organised crime and heroin smuggling. TarnishedPathtalk 05:41, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
Information manipulation alert
[edit]This edit by the user Jontel (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Jontel): https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Lin_Yu-ting&diff=prev&oldid=1239672702 mentions he/she defeated Szeremeta during the Paris Olympics, but it is factually wrong, and was stated prior to the result of the match, which indicates a manipulation attemt. The match is still ongoin as this note is being written (2024-08-10 14:59 CDT). 98.222.227.59 (talk) 19:59, 10 August 2024 (UTC)
- Al-Jazeera published the results at 19:49 UTC, 1 minute prior to this edit. You were probably watching with a delay. Flounder fillet (talk) 20:18, 10 August 2024 (UTC)

In this source the IBA has found a male DNA in a test: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/olympics/article-13723225/Gender-boxer-Lin-Yu-ting.html
It is prohibited by western culture form men to beat women - learn that! 188.146.140.15 (talk) 23:37, 10 August 2024 (UTC)

Remove Caster Semenya from Lin Yu-ting#See_also.
Semenya is actually intersex, while Lin is simply the subject of dirty gossip on the matter--while both were controversial, it was not for the same reason. 184.19.110.85 (talk) 03:36, 17 August 2024 (UTC)
