Dislike

nobody likes lil wayne eminem destroyed him on his own track !!!!

Criticism

should there be a section about how much people dislike him, i have never heard of so many people hating someone as much as him, maybe soulja boy, hes been acussed of ruining hip hop and there should also be a mentioning about how hes been acussed of ghostwriting. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.168.48.54 (talk) 00:24, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

There was a book put out by a Pastor in 2011 called, "Deadest Rapper Alive: The Rise of Lil' Wayne and the Fall of Urban Youth." It speaks about Lil' Wayne's negative effects on urban youth. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jomo1980 (talkcontribs) 13:14, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

i think there should be a mention about this too. True. Many people hate him cause he ruined rap, and hip hop. Many people also mention as soulja boy as one of the worst pop artist like wayne. i think wayne and soulja boy just make negative images for music period. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.145.183.197 (talk) 00:17, 30 March 2012 (UTC)

u cant mention that people hate him. Thats not a countable fact. But we can discribe about his song and his beaviour, that there are very controversuel issus. --93.184.26.78 (talk) 21:08, 28 April 2015 (UTC)

Edit request from Wsb, 11 February 2011

{{edit semi-protected}} In the section titled 2008–present: Rebirth, I Am Not a Human Being, and Tha Carter IV there is a sentence that reads:

'Lil Wayne was thought to be releasing an EP entitled I Am Not a Human Being, but it was confirmed that would be a full lenghth LP. The album was released on September 27, 2010 which was his birthday. The album has sold over 250,000 copies in the U.S. and has spawned a successful single in "Right Above It".

In this sentence the word 'length' is spelled incorrectly. Wsb (talk) 05:28, 11 February 2011 (UTC)

Lil Wayne Sets Guiness World Record

Lil Wayne recently set a World Record when he toppled The Oreo Cookies brand attempt at the same. The record was for the most "likes" to a single FaceBook post within a 24 Hour Time Frame. When Lil Wayne heard about the Oreos record attempt he decided to Compete for the same record. Lil Wayne has a FaceBook fan base over 20 Million Users and it did not take him long to break Oreos record. For more information on this Story you can view the original source where it was discovered by using this Lil Wayne link. Nickname

Apparently, "Weezy" is a sufficiently well-known nickname for Lil' Wayne that he used it in the hostname of an official site (weezythanxyou), but the article never explicitly mentions it. It's not an obvious nickname by any means, and I think it would be helpful to fit it in somewhere, possibly even in the article's leader as an a/k/a. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.255.193.125 (talk) 12:59, 2 March 2011 (UTC)

The aka is only for names the artist has officially released music under ex. Diddy: P. Diddy and Puff Daddy. Its just a nickname and not an official stage name so it doesn't earn a mention in the article. STATic message me! 05:16, 8 March 2011 (UTC)

Lil Wayne didn't actually leave McMain because he wanted to focus on his career. He actually was expelled by Faye Haley a teacher currently employed in Haynes Academy. Lil Wayne however did return to McMain on prom night and "made it rain". Datruthman (talk) 15:32, 26 March 2011 (UTC)

For preperation for Tha Carter IV, Lil Wayne will release a mixtape titled, Sorry For The Wait . It was name this because he is saying sorry to his fans because they have been waiting on the release of Tha Carter IV. He said it will consist of about 10 tracks and will be similar to No Ceilings but better.

Edit Request: New $15mil Lawsuit

http://www.nme.com/news/lil-wayne/58495

"Lil Wayne is facing yet another lawsuit after a production company announced plans to sue him for copyright infringement...Georgia-based firm is suing Wayne...for $15 million...ordered to appear in court on October 12....[in] June, Lil Wayne announced plans to retire from music when he reaches the age of 30."

REMOVAL Request: "He is widely regarded as one of the greatest rappers alive, garnering acclaim for his profound lyricism." ??????

I was offended when I read this. There shouldn't be room for this type of opinion in a simple intro paragraph, especially something that in no way can be cited. I am trying to leave my biased opinion about Lil Wayne's "talent" out of this discussion, but in no way is he widely regarded as even a great rapper, and Lil Wayne and lyricism mentioned in the same breath defies all logic.

Sorry but it had to be mentioned... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Andrewhake (talkcontribs) 04:56, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

There was some discussion about Lil Wayne's picture on the Lil Wayne wiki page. A better picture was requested, and I have one of him. I uploaded it to Commons, but I am new and don't know how to change the picture out. The picture is my own property and I have already licensed it here for public domain.

The picture that I uploaded is at http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/56/Lil_Wayne_final_edit.png

Sorry, but I am an artist, not a computer person! =( please help me by changing the pic out? (There is discussion about changing it out anyway)

Not done for now: I took a look at the sources, and it looks like the first one is a celebrity gossip site with no real notability to speak of. The second one is actually referencing Lil' Wayne's record label, Universal, staging an "intervention" on Wayne regarding the multiple copyright infringement issues. Do you have any reliable references that specifically are about this particular lawsuit, and not Wayne's plethora of litigation in general? Ella Plantagenet (talk) 19:01, 12 November 2011 (UTC)
