Fifth album title
Per the discussion here, there's been no official confirmation on the title of Lil' Kim's fifth album. There have been rumors, but nothing concrete. The only people who have stated that the album is called Black Widow are either specifically saying that Wikipedia has this listed or they were written long after the information was added to the article, meaning that they're clearly pulling from us as a source. Until we have official confirmation from the performer or her official representatives, the album should be considered untitled. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 10:35, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
Analysis
There seems to be a lot of debate on Lil'Kim's real age and personal life. Their claims are most likely biased towards things people have heard, so can the references really be reliable unless they come straight from Lil'Kim or someone in her family? --Janinemalahoff (talk) 22:03, 4 April 2017 (UTC)

Legacy Section
Its time for Lil' Kim to have "Legacy" section in her Wiki page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Godneybjs (talk • contribs) 09:06, 10 June 2017 (UTC)
Question about the opening header paragraph
"Her following albums, The Notorious K.I.M. (2000) and La Bella Mafia (2003), were certified Platinum, making her the only female rapper besides Missy Elliott to have at least 3 Platinum albums." Maybe this should be changed to "only solo female rapper" because Salt-N-Pepa also have 3 platinum albums. Horizonlove (talk) 23:04, 17 October 2017 (UTC)

- Not done: Press releases aren't inherently inappropriate reference sources. The press release was used to source a claim that isn't controversial, hence that source is fine. {{Cite press release}} exists because press releases are often used as sources. feminist (talk) 13:19, 8 February 2018 (UTC)

I am a fan of hers so how are you gonna tell me what’s her real age ? Lilkim.xl (talk) 05:59, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
- I'm not. I'm telling you what multiple RS sources cited in the footnotes say — including an entire VH1 article devotes specifically to discussing her varied birthdate claims. Please read the footnotes, which include music sites, books, encyclopedias and a US government source.--Tenebrae (talk) 06:02, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
- Also, claims of personal wealth is a personal-life claim about a living person and requires an extremely WP:RS citation.--Tenebrae (talk) 06:09, 29 June 2019 (UTC)

Untitled
Lil kim was born in 1974 and is now currently in the year of 2020 bout to be 46 years old There is, in fact, an entire VH1 article here specifically saying that journalistic sources disagree on her age. ("How Old Is Lil’ Kim, Exactly?" by Bené Viera, July 11, 2012). An excerpt (with reliable sources boldfaced):
Her bios on Billboard, TV Guide, Yahoo Movies and Starpulse corroborate Wikipedia’s 1975 birth [at the time the article was written] On the other hand, AOL Music’s bio page for the BK rapper is in line with IMDB’s 1974. In 2005, MSNBC wrote, “Lil’ Kim, who turns 30 next week…” which would again make this a happy 37th birthday. And People.com in 2003 referred to her as a then 28-year-old making her 37 today [and not 39 until July 11, 2014].
The best example of how to approach this is Mariah Carey. Choosing one RS over another is POV unless we have definitive evidence such as a birth record. --Tenebrae (talk) 21:02, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

The BBC bio has taken it's info from wikipedia and can therefore not be considered as a source. TvGuide doesn't give any date at all.DrKilleMoff (talk) 13:18, 28 May 2017 (UTC)
- As DrKilleMoff said, the BBC bio explicitly cites Wikipedia as its source, and the TV Guide link (at least as of now) includes no age/birthdate info. I'll remove both links. The other two links supporting the July 11 1975 birth date, All Music and Billboard, are word-for-word identical, and the content is licensed from TiVo Corporation, which acquired it from a company called Rovi Corporation, neither of which have a reputation for accuracy or fact-checking, to my knowledge. I'll remove those links as well, on that basis. (At the bottom of the Billboard bio, it lists the source as Rovi, and AllMusic's submission guide says to mail info to TiVo Corporation.) While Billboard's news publication may arguably be a reliable source, their website simply licenses TiVo's database of biographical content. The NY Times and LA Times also license dubious third party data for their website-only bios, which aren't vetted by the news organizations' fact-checkers and editors.
- The July 11 1974 date is consistent with the age reported in these articles: 2005 New York Times, 2014 LA Times/2014 Chicago Tribune (identical article; author worked for both papers), 2016 Washington Post, 2014 The Independent.
- The July 11 1975 date is consistent with the age reported in these articles: 2000 LA Times (it credits a NY Daily News staff writer, so perhaps that was a reprinted Daily News article), 2000 Washington Post, 2004 Rolling Stone, 2005 Chicago Tribune, 1997 The Independent, 1998 The Independent.
- All the above news sources before her March 17 2005 perjury conviction are consistent with the 1975 date, and all after that are consistent with the 1974 date. This is PURE personal speculation, but I'd guess that for some reason she falsely gave 1975 as her birth year until either the conviction changed her attitude toward lying, or maybe the July 2005 New York Times article's fact checker(s) accessed her Brooklyn birth certificate showing 1974, and she decided to use 1974 after that.
- The Daily Mail, which is not a reliable source, had three relatively recent articles where her age was consistent with the 1974 date, and one article where her age was 3 years younger than that...a good illustration of why it's not considered a reliable source.
- Some sources listing July 11 1974 specifically:
- · 2016 Gazette Review article (I'm unfamiliar with this website/publication).
- · 2014 Toronto Sun article (but the article was licensed from a third party called wenn.com, with which I'm unfamiliar).
- · Icons of Hip Hop: An Encyclopedia of the Movement, Music, and Culture, Volume 2 (2007 book)
- Some sources listing July 11 1975 specifically:
- · Rolling Stone Encyclopedia of Rock & Roll: Rolling Stone, page 566, (2001 book)
- · Encyclopedia of African American Actresses in Film and Television (2009 book)
- · This Day in Music: An Every Day Record of Musical Feats and Facts (2010 book)
- While I'm guessing the 3 books saying 1975 are wrong, they seem to me to meet the criteria for reliable sources, so I'll add those in lieu of the current four references I'm removing.

infobox image
Personally not keen on the infobox image that's been on there since March 25. It's from over 20 years ago, when she was in her mid-20s, and she looks to be wearing some large hat (or some other object is in the way) which obscures her hair, whereas the previous one is from less than ten years ago and I believe better represents her now, in middle-age. Not a huge fan of that one either to be honest but I find it better than the new one. Thoughts? The brave celery (talk) 04:35, 1 April 2020 (UTC)

In the "Early life, family and education" section, first paragraph, last sentence, the "Jones" is unnecessary as the subject is already established. Jawnmays (talk) 09:01, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
- Done Have also done some further rewording as none of the cited sources in that section directly say her father "kicked her out", just that she left. Perhaps the preceding sentence could be elaborated on to better provide context - I'm not sure "tumultuous relationship" adequately captures what the two sources we cite describe: "According to Kim he became increasingly verbally abusive and their relationship took a violent turn — Kim once stabbed him with a pair of scissors." and "Fights between father and daughter became more frequent--and violent, she says. On at least one occasion, Kim remembers, her morning wake-up call was a fist crashing into her face." I'm not sure if we should go ahead and describe this or not. Lil kim was born July 11,1976 not 74 she will be turning 47. Her mother has confirmed this on tv. Kim has a song called identity theft the cover shows a driver license with her birthday July 11,1976 aswell you guys need to change this, this why people say wiki is not a reliable source to begin with.

Influences
Lil' Kim has mentioned Janet Jackson as one of her biggest influences. Multiple interviews as well as through her music, where she mentions Janet's name multiple times. Why has Janet's name not been included? 122.161.50.131 (talk) 19:10, 12 February 2024 (UTC)

Lil Kim's controversies
Lil' Kim did an interview in 2001 with Wendy Williams and in that interview she stated that she made up with Shyne. The interview is on YouTube. It would be great to show that she rectified her issue with him years ago.
Also, where is Faith Evans and Eve in the "controversy" section?
