On 11 January 2024, it was proposed that this article be moved from Capitalist Party to Liberalistene. The result of the discussion was moved. |
[edit]
This article covers a Norwegian political party. It is reported, stands in elections, and is one of the fastest growing parties in Norway. Aa.rasmussen (talk) 22:26, 30 May 2016 (UTC)
"Fastest growing party"
[edit]This is a misleading expression. If I found a party and a friend of mine joins it the next day, the party has grown by 100% that day. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Deathmare (talk • contribs) 08:40, 23 September 2016 (UTC)
Translation
[edit]Why do you translate it "Capitalist Party"? --212.186.7.98 (talk) 10:48, 30 April 2017 (UTC)
- Once again: why do you translate it "Captitalist" and not "Libertarian" party? --212.186.7.98 (talk) 14:29, 12 September 2017 (UTC)
- Because that is not the official translation of the party, there is more than just one libertarian party in Norway! Vif12vf (talk) 10:08, 13 September 2017 (UTC)
- Where do you find this "official" translation? Their website seems to be entirely in Norwegian; I couldn't find an English version. But if you let Google translate it for you, it apparently translates their self-description as "The Liberalists".
- They clearly support capitalism (or at least what they think of as capitalism, which may be somewhat different from what you might call "actually existing capitalism") but the references I spot-checked don't call the party by this name. --Trovatore (talk) 06:43, 11 January 2024 (UTC)

Capitalist Party → Liberalistene – There does not seem to be any significant usage in English of the term "Capitalist Party" for this party. There is a single quote from their "statutes" that Google translates as "The English version of the name is Capitalist Party", but it does not seem to appear elsewhere in the references, on anything that appears I should say, that I was able to find on their website, or in any ghits on the first page that don't come from Wikipedia. Since no accepted and used English name seems to exist, let's use the Norwegian name and put it in italics. Trovatore (talk) 21:20, 11 January 2024 (UTC)

- Support Can't find any reference to this "Capitalist Party" name. And clearly not a translation of the original either. Walrasiad (talk) 23:58, 13 January 2024 (UTC)
- Support To my knowledge they have never been referred to under this name. Famousdog (woof)(grrr) 09:23, 15 January 2024 (UTC)
