Merger proposal

[edit]

I propose that List of leaders of the Liberal Party of Australia (New South Wales Division) be merged into Liberal Party of Australia (NSW Division). There is considerable overlap between the subjects and both are very short, so it makes sense to merge the leadership with the broader topic of the party they lead. --DilatoryRevolution (talk) 06:28, 16 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. List articles are useful, but are better separate from their parent pages. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Newystats (talkcontribs) 07:08, 17 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

How are they more useful on separate pages? The Labor leadership page was merged with its parent page. Even the federal Liberal branch does not have a separate page. The parent page currently presents almost no information that could not be given on its own parent page, Liberal Party of Australia. Not that I advocate for its deletion. I just think it needs to provide more detailed NSW-specific information on the Liberals and leadership is an important part of that. A redirect would be provided and no information would be deleted.--DilatoryRevolution (talk) 15:29, 17 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'm okay with a merge. The state branches have needed their own articles forever, and merging the almost-orphan lists of party leaders into articles with a broader focus is a good way to get those articles going. The Drover's Wife (talk) 16:04, 17 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
