removed external link
[edit]The following external link is broken:
CREW Welsh Writers Online: Leslie Norris Captured 2 December 2005.
I tried to find it by searching on the internet and by looking at archive.com and I just can't find it. If anyone can find the link, please put it back on the external links section. Thanks! Amgisseman(BYU) (talk) 22:31, 2 May 2016 (UTC)
Removed section on tribute from Rosenberg
[edit]I didn't think that it was appropriate to have an entire section devoted to a quote from Rosenberg. Although is does offer great praise of Norris's work and contributions, I do not think that it is necessarily appropriate for a Wikipedia article that should be encyclopedic. If anyone has any issues, feel free to put the quote back in. It is listed below and includes the citation which wasn't complete anyway:
"His obituaries ran from his native Wales to his adopted Provo, through every other place of literary prominence in between. His poetic voice was pure, authentic, and deceptively simple. He was great in a land of great poets. He was also a primary school teacher. And a headmaster. Though he went on to publicly prestigious things, he remained a teacher. He taught the most gifted creative writing students at BYU and helped launch their careers; he also read his stories and poems to countless school children."[1]

[edit]There are several pieces of information that are still not cited in the article. Because they aren't factually supported, I felt uncomfortable leaving them public. When you go to edit the page. I put the information in <! ... > so that it is still accessible to editors. Amgisseman(BYU) (talk) 22:20, 27 May 2016 (UTC)
Latter-day Saint?
[edit]It says/implies multiple times in this article that Norris was LDS but I don't believe this to be the case. Winning an AML Award and teaching at BYU alone do not make one a member of the affiliated religion. This needs sourcing. Thmazing (talk) 03:39, 26 November 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Thmazing, where does the Wikipedia page say or imply that Norris was a member of the LDS church? Rachel Helps (BYU) (talk) 21:53, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
- Hi, Rachel. I feel like there was something else as well (although I first got my suspicions raised on another article that led me here). On this page the main issues are in the categories. Thmazing (talk) 22:39, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
- Good call. I removed the two "Latter Day Saint" categories. Rachel Helps (BYU) (talk) 18:55, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
