Comparison
[edit]What's with the "comparison picture". it seems like WP:OR, or WP:synthesis. Is there any actual real information to suggest that a mappa specimen influenced the artist's work? 129.78.64.103 (talk) 09:27, 2 October 2009 (UTC)
- Reference 2 (Poutiers) does in fact mention the resemblance between the color pattern of L. mappa and ancient maps in general. It has nothing to do with that specific map in the comparison picture, and there is no such thing as the specimen influencing whoever drawn that map! Please, read the shell description content. L. mappa was named after its resemblance to aged, worn out maps such as the one in the picture.--Daniel Cavallari (talk) 14:37, 2 October 2009 (UTC)
