Color cruft

In this edit I removed a wall of color cruft from the article. There is far too much focus on pointless visual descriptions like skin and hair tones and the clothing the characters wear. Character sections can include brief descriptions of who the characters are and what roles they play in the series, but should center on real-world information, like who portrays the characters, how they were cast, if we know that, and so on. Edits such as these, where editors are debating whether or not the character wears breeches or jodhpurs is needlessly distracting. It simply does not matter. Lastly, I removed the write-up for the Livi character because it's unclear what the user was trying to communicate. Idol? What? Like a golden statue of a god? Improper tone. Animated series

The section about the animated series needs a clean up. I don't think it is necessary to list every episode released and it takes up a lot of space on the page. According to the text it isn't even a comprehensive list. The episode titles also don't add any useful information. There are also factual errors about the release dates. It would be better to just add a summary for each season that focuses on the production and release information. Fieryninja (talk) 08:23, 26 March 2021 (UTC)

Character trivia

Hi Striker2020 do you know if we can verify the character trivia that was added by another editor recently? I'm not convinced it is accurate. For example, according to a fan wiki, Olivia's hamster is not called Zobo, it is Rumble. Zobo is apparently a robot. I wonder if we can find any reliable sources for it, otherwise we may have to remove it. Thanks Fieryninja (talk) 09:02, 21 January 2022 (UTC)

Fieryninja few days ago the editor removed the list of the web shorts because is a WP:FANCRUFT but I will find a better source for the web shorts next time. Striker2020 (talk) 05:33, 2 September 2022 (UTC)

New logo

Hi Striker2020 thanks for highlighting. The new rebrand doesn't launch until January and the old logo still exists on the official website, so we don't need to change it until the launch. I do think though that we need to add the announcement about the new brand, characters etc. Then when it launches in January, the page will need a major rewrite to reflect the changes. 1999 game

Is the 1999 game actually considered part of this theme? As far as I knew it was unrelated besides sharing a name. It's worth being mentioned in the development section but I don't know if I'd call it a soft launch for a theme that came out thirteen years later Ringtail Raider (talk) 22:59, 13 October 2023 (UTC)

I agree with you Ringtail Raider that too much emphasis is being placed on the video game. The Lego reference in the lede makes it clear that the theme launched in 2012 and that the video game was simply an experiment and part of the company's research. The recent edits to the lede now suggest that it launched as the game in 1999 and expanded to the toy line, which is not strictly true, because Lego Friends was launched as a brand in 2012. The game should only be mentioned as part of the development and therefore we don't need to list the game characters as though they are part of the theme.
