It's not fair that you took the wiki link I posted on the page under External Links. If you look at Rochester NY and Davis California pages they both have links to there community wiki's. Sure lawtwpwiki.org is new but it falls under the same kind of wikis of Davis and Rochester. It wasn't advertising it's a wiki of information about Lawrence Township. I didn't post it on this site for advertising or for higher search engine rankings. It was posted so people could find out more about Lawrence Township NJ.

Princeton Junior School ...

Ok. I've added a paragraph on it. --184.153.21.19 (talk) 21:40, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • User:Alansohn, hi, I think the reference to the accused sexual predator teacher at the school should be re-inserted, as it is both relevant (as you suggest, for a standalone article it would be fine (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Lawrence_Township,_Mercer_County,_New_Jersey&diff=1067562899&oldid=1067513626) ... but we do not necessarily have enough gng support for a stand-alone), and I do not think it helpful to parents of children who may have been affected by the teacher to strip this article of that knowledge. We should not deprive the parents of that knowledge and reason to check in on their kids - just because wp automatically allows articles for high schools, but not normally for lower level schools. This teacher was charged with sexually abusing multiple children in New Jersey. The purpose of wp is to allow access to knowledge. I would argue this piece of knowledge is more important to parents than the acreage of the school, or that it was started in a church basement, or that it was formerly in Princeton - all of which I put in, and your retained, so it's good knowledge, but what you deleted is far more important - it could lead to a parent getting their child necessary support now. Multiple times each. Please reconsider. Thanks, and thanks for all your good work on nj articles.--2603:7000:2143:8500:301C:58FD:5F05:5FC6 (talk) 19:14, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The purpose of Wikipedia is indeed to be an encyclopedia. but what is the purpose of an encyclopedia? It is to convey information. Which information? Presumably, information of interest to the reader that is verifiable. Like the number of acres of the school. Like the fact that it was started in a basement. Like the fact that it has x students. Like the fact that it has or had notable teachers. Like the fact that they were notable because of x. Your saying "the purpose is to be an encyclopedia does not lead one to draw the line where you drew it. I explained why this information would serve the purpose of an encyclopedia - providing information to the reader that is of interest to the reader. That's the underlying purpose. And I pointed out why that meets this purpose. I think you are an excellent editor, but would urge you to reconsider. As you indicated, in a standalone article you would reflect it - I think further consideration on your part would be helpful. 2603:7000:2143:8500:301C:58FD:5F05:5FC6 (talk) 20:45, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
As encyclopedia points out: "Indeed, the purpose of an encyclopedia is to collect knowledge disseminated around the globe; to set forth its general system to the men with whom we live, and transmit it to those who will come after us, so that the work of preceding centuries will not become useless to the centuries to come; and so that our offspring, becoming better instructed, will at the same time become more virtuous and happy, and that we should not die without having rendered a service to the human race in the future years to come."
