Subject of "She Loves Me Not"
[edit]Is there any way to verify this claim? I tried finding an online version of Appel's essay and did find this and this but neither mention Cohen. Using the isbn number I found this on Google Books, but again no mention of Cohen. In addition, it says in the "Acknowledgments" section of the book that the essays in Phoning Home previously appeared in other publications and that in the "She Loves Me Not" was first published Passages North (Winter/Spring 2006). The other two sources cited are offline so they're hard to verify. Can't find anything for Nonfiction Journal August 2014 and I think that Scarsdale News might be actually The Scarsdale Inquirer which does have this article about Appel, but says nothing about Phoning Home or Cohen. It seems to me that this claim is pretty close to WP:BLPREMOVE territory and possibly WP:UNDUE and well and it should be better sourced, especially if it's going to be mentioned prominently in the lede and nowhere else in the article. I am interested in hearing what others think. Thanks in advance. - Marchjuly (talk) 05:41, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
- Agreed that the line should be removed until a source can be found. The current sources appear to be nonexistent publications. -Batsarentbugs (talk) 00:08, 6 November 2015 (UTC)
Jewogle citation
[edit]I've removed the reference to a Jewogle page (Lauren Cohan) with this edit because the source does not appear to reliable per "Questionable sources" and "Challenged or likely to be challenged". Jewogle does not any apparent editorial controls or oversight in place so it's not clear whether they are generating their own content or simply mirroring content that exists on other sites. The reliability of the source was discussed at "Jewogle" at Wikipedia's reliable sources noticeboard and the consensus seems to be that the source is not reliable. Moreover, an article from the magazine American Jewish Life (Fall TV Preview: Lauren Cohan) also has been provided to support the same information in the article so the Jewogle reference is not really necessary. - Marchjuly (talk) 00:31, 14 April 2015 (UTC)

- Exactly. Does she use the (correct) Irish pronunciation? Or the (incorrect) Jewish one?
- Please add to the article. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.35.33.162 (talk) 20:15, 29 April 2017 (UTC)

Returned to US?
[edit]The article says "her mother is Scottish and returned to the U.S. when she was around 17." None of the sources seem to mention this, and it doesn't make much sense. If her mother is Scottish, in what sense did she "return" to the US? Sadiemonster (talk) 11:36, 5 November 2020 (UTC)

DOB
[edit]Which Date of birth is correct? 1982 or 1984? 82.42.44.203 (talk) 20:47, 11 November 2022 (UTC)
Nationality in intro
[edit]Looking over the article, all notable activities are as an American in the US. She is a dual national because born in US to British mother but it looks like the only nationality she is actually using is American. British is not relevant to her notability so shouldn't be mentioned in intro or lead per MOS:CONTEXTBIO. It is covered in the early life section and mentioned in infobox which is sufficient.
