- The result was merge into Laser capture microdissection. -- Blue Rasberry 20:53, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
Is not Laser microdissection the same as the subject of this page, Laser capture microdissection? If so, the articles should be merged. Can someone say whether there is a distinction between the names? Blue Rasberry 16:21, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
Hi,
it's absolutely correct. I support your merger. If you want to talk in general about this topic you should use the term "laser microdissection". "Laser capture microdissection" is an application topic of one of the suppliers of such an instrument. Categories can be: microscopy, lasers, molecular biology, biomedical research, laser scalpel —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.104.112.55 (talk) 13:40, 12 June 2010 (UTC)
I also agree and support this merger. Although "laser microdissection" is the more general term, "laser capture microdissection" or LCM is much more heavily used by members of the life sciences field (and by all suppliers including Zeiss, Leica, Arcturus, etc.). I agree with BlueRaspberry's categories as well. Jockrock14 (talk) 18:04, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
- Okay, I am taking all content from laser microdissection and moving it here, and also setting up a redirect from that page to this one. Blue Rasberry 21:00, 24 June 2010 (UTC)

[edit]It is hard to find info about laser microdissection, and the websites selling equipment for this process appear in the external links. These links are WP:SPAM; I just reverted the addition of a zeiss.de sales site three times; it is my opinion that the apparent info on the site is for sales and not giving info on the field of laser microdissection. Blue Rasberry 15:27, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
That might be right, but the other links also have sales information on the link:
- LMD Solutions
- Leica Microsystems commercial non-contact Laser Microdissection systems
So I ask you to be fair on these terms. Please delete all company links or release all company links.
best regards ... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.152.5.244 (talk) 15:42, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
