Initial comments

[edit]
  • "as a successor to its popular Hitman Go" - would spiritual successor sound more appropriate?
  • "The game was released by Square Enix in August 2015 for Android, iOS, Windows, and Windows Phone" - might be worth adding devices at the end
  • "but criticized its short length and disputed its level of difficulty" - 'disputed' sounds confusing here if it's not being read out as and its disputed level of difficulty. Maybe and were divided over its level of difficulty sounds better?
  • "Its core gameplay and control scheme is similar to its predecessor, Hitman Go" - again, is Hitman Go considered its predecessor if it's not in the Tomb Raider franchise?
  • "Using touchscreen controls, during a turn the player swipes along a line in the direction they want Lara Croft to move" - sentence structure might be better rearranged as Using touchscreen controls, the player swipes along a line in the direction they want Lara Croft to move, during a turn. Feel free to ignore this suggestion
  • "The game features in-app purchases, which provide hints to the puzzles" - I'd recommend merging this into a paragraph
  • "Still, the team felt that the product distilled the franchise's elements to its simplest form" - I think 'still' sounds informal
  • "The team chose the classic Tomb Raider aesthetics over that of the series reboot, but reconstructed their memory of the series aesthetic" - repetition of aesthetic (I understand that esthetic is Canadian spelling)
  • Why is IGN italicized?
  • Minor, but I'd split the references into two columns
  • No gameplay image?

On hold

[edit]

This is a great article, sorry if the review seems rushed as I have to go in a minute. I'll leave this on hold until all of the above are clarified. JAGUAR  20:13, 18 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Czar: pinging, I know the bot has your restraining order! JAGUAR  20:13, 18 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Jaguar, done! Thanks! More like the bot has a restraining order against me—I wish I received notifs but who knows why I don't get them... Re: criticized/disputed—should be fine with the parallelism, no? (praised its X, criticized its Y, disputed its Z) Hitman Go is its predecessor in the Go franchise—not sure we can call it a franchise quite yet, but the dev sees it as such in interviews and whatnot. IGN is italicized in its capacity of providing creative/original reporting (not as IGN the business). czar 20:34, 18 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for addressing them! I wasn't aware that Go was considered a franchise and I must have misread the 'disputed' parallel. Anyway, this is good to go JAGUAR  21:44, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
