Special possibilities on Tropical coal powerplants
[edit]Solarthermal heat can be used to reduce Coal consumption of the powerplant. one first heats with solar.
TROPICS has a specialty. Die to Solar angle One can place \_/ reflectors in west-east direction and get 3x solar intensity. that's cheap roofings. opening angle 30deg. space is here. Place a Solarthermal collector at bottom. 3x more solar intensity. insulate well from below.
Ferric alaun can be used as solar collector medium. on 3x intensity reachable temperature is higher. We burn some coal and reach optimum steam temperature.
Only works in tropics all season.
1km2 is 0.6*1.4GW 12hours on 55% Solar eff. due to higher temperature reachable, Solar share on power increases from 20..90 to 20..250degC steam. Coal then runs up to 350degC steam.
Kenya has windpower. don't spoil regenerative energy with coal. without solar.
