What....

What needs to be done in terms of cleanup here? I'm happy to do it, but I just need a little direction....perhaps a gold-standard? Lemme know. [[TheAngriestPharmacist]] 17:48, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

You might want to get some other opinions on what to do with the article, but as of now I don't think there needs to be a list of who is on the Grand Council but maybe a description of the grand council. Also, when you speak about the chapers Im a little confused as to how many active chapters there are? Are there 44 actives, but there have been 58 charters given out, or are there only 30 active chapters, etc.? Expand on the publications, give a little bit of a background about them and what each offers. Also, for chapter listing it might be best to just list the school where it is located (i.e. don't include pharmacy school; instead of Temple University School of Pharmacy just say Temple University), one reason being (to my understanding) the pharmacy school isnt the one allowing the charter it is the actual University. If I see anything else I'll be sure to change it myself or list it here. Acidskater 18:17, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
I clarified the number of charters out there. I really don't have the resources at this point to expand on the publications. All the info I can get is basically going to be verbatim from their website. I'm not in agreement with removing the chapter designation or "school of pharmacy," for a few reasons. It's a pharmacy fraternity. Only pharmacy students can join - not even pre-pharm can join...only the actual pharmacy students. I also don't know about some of them. For instance, St. Louis College of Pharmacy is a stand alone school. It does not have a parent. Therefor you cannot truncate that name. But obviously temple is a standalone school and temple 'school of pharmacy' could be cut. But, it would take some time to verify that for each and every school...I would know the obvious ones...
As for teh description of the Grand Council - they are going to have to update that themselves. Their pledge books with that info are private, it's not on their website, and I don't have a clue where else to look...maybe it will come along someday... Many chapters allow pre-pharmacy students and other health-related students.

Isn't a fraternity a society for males and a sorority for females? This fraternity for females is confusing me...60.54.63.156 (talk) 00:28, 25 October 2012 (UTC)

The term "fraternity" is used for both. It's a holdover from an earlier era before the word "sorority" was coined. Jax MN (talk) 19:23, 12 December 2020 (UTC)

Chapter List with dates

Rublamb Not sure if you have access to the Wikipedia Library, but https://www-jstor-org.wikipedialibrary.idm.oclc.org/stable/41112453?seq=8 has chartering dates (as well as chartering date for the alumni chapters for each. Not sure if those should be in the table or not). Not sure when I'll have the time to copy it over, so wanted you to have the link.Naraht (talk) 08:27, 17 March 2023 (UTC)

Perfect! Many thanks. Rublamb (talk) 15:35, 17 March 2023 (UTC)
