Misconduct section
[edit]First off, and sincerely, welcome to Wikipedia. Our goal here is to build the world's best encyclopedia. It is hard work and often seems like an endless argument. But relax, everyone edits everyone else's work all the time. That is the nature of the beast. If I can be of any help to you let me know.
In any case, the cite states Lt. C.J. Thompson turned himself in and resigned for the laptop thing. The cite is reputable from a major newspaper. The facts of course may have changed (did he un-resign? Was there some sort of apology from the newspaper for getting it wrong?) But baring you finding a reliable sources saying it didn't happen, the paragraph needs to stay.
The same can be said for killing someone after knocking on the wrong door. If an investigation or report in a reputable source indicates it never happened, we can remove the item. If we cannot, we need to leave it.
Please find good solid cites about these or other incidents so we can get the story right. Having mistaken information is just as bad as leaving out reports from solid sources.
I have copied all this to the LCSO talk page so other editors can weigh in as they might like. Again, thank you for your edits, nothing personal. Paul, in Saudi (talk) 11:13, 22 November 2014 (UTC)
It appears this article is becoming much like the daily news, increasing leaning toward the negative. Not my intention when I created the page years ago. If we're going to have a misconduct section, which is missing from all other pages of Florida Sheriff's Offices, it should balanced out with some positive. I'm all for sharing information in the news, but let's broaden the spectrum a little and cover some positive stuff. We all seem to be good a coughing up links to the negative, use that same energy for positive as well. Jamie41 (talk) 03:22, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
- THere has been no change to the Misconduct Section since November of last year. Not so much a daily newspaper, more like a quarterly newsletter. In any case, add as many positive stuff as you like. but please porivde a cite and stay on-topic. Paul, in Saudi (talk) 04:08, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
