History

[edit]

"[...]a company from Belgrade, Serbia. They opened to the public in March of 1979."

In 1979 there was no country called Serbia. It's Belgrade, Yugoslavia. Or with hints that the formation does not exist anymore, like 'former' or 'then'. Amanitin (talk) 12:13, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This seems to have been changed, but just on a point of order, Serbia was still a constituent republic of Yugoslavia at that time; it's not as if the place had no existence at all in 1979.

I'm more curious about why the article is abruptly truncated at a square bracket. "During t]" isn't much of a conclusion. Zgryphon (talk) 23:16, 11 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Kuwait Towers
The Kuwait Towers are a group of three slender towers in Kuwait City, standing on a promontory into the Persian Gulf. Built as part of a water distribution project, they were officially inaugurated in March 1979. Today they are rated as a landmark and symbol of modern Kuwait. The largest tower holds 4,500 cubic metres of water, a restaurant, a café, a lounge and a reception hall. The towers have been closed since March 2012 for maintenance.Photograph: Richard Bartz

Word choice

[edit]

I know it's nothing major, but . . .

In the first paragraph of the "Design and construction" section, the last sentence talks about how the project title is sometimes used both singularly and plurally. The word "structure" in that sentence strongly implies 'singularly' when it's obvious that the project consists of several structures. I think a more accurate word would be "complex" -- it also seems to give a smoother read of the sentence.

What do all of you think? Should "structure" be replaced with "complex"? 68.231.89.207 (talk) 16:09, 10 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
