[edit]Ksamil is a small Costal town located in Southern Albania, near to Sarande. It is easily accesible from Corfu by boat. Created under communism and set up as a state farm in the 1970's originally housing some 2 thousand people who grew olives, lemons, oranges and vines, it has since expanded into a popular beach resort.
it has a number of small beaches on the mainland and 4 small islands in the bay all accesible by swimming or speedboat. The beaches are clean and good for swimming and snorkelling, and there are a number of small beach bars and cafes with toilets nearby.
the resturants of Ksamil serve local fresh seafood with mussels a particular speciality and there a a number of bars and a beach disco in the summer. Ksamil is popular with Albanian tourists nad is starting to see forien tourists. an international team of around 80-100 mainly British, Irish and American archaeologists have been using the resort since 2000 as a base for their summer excavations at the nearby ruined Roman city of Butrint. Hence the town has quite a laid back international feel. There a a number of small hotels and guesthouses dotted around the town all within a couple of minutes from the beach most speak some English, all are cheap and clean. local transportation is good with regular buses to Butrint and sarande, Taxis are easy to find and cheap.
Name in Greek
[edit]I am going to revert Alexikoua's edit, because the source regarding the Greek name, says only (page 13): "Schools opened then in the mixed communities (with a majority of Albanians) of Saranda, Delvina, Metoq, Ksamil, Bistritsa and SMT." There is no Εξαμίλια in that source. When Εξαμίλια in South Albania is referenced properly, it will remain in the article.Beserks (talk) 06:41, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
Read wp:nc, since this is about a mixed settlement we can use both names. Examilia is the Greek name of Ksamil.Alexikoua (talk) 08:29, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
Ok, if you give me the source that Examilia is the Greek name of Ksamil, we're OK. If there is no Examilia in the written sources, we'll have to go back to Ξαμίλη. Beserks (talk) 10:49, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
[[1]] several thousands of googlehits about the specific village.Alexikoua (talk) 11:07, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, all your sources come from websites like:

If you have a reliable published source about Examila, AL, or a snippet, it's OK by me.Beserks (talk) 10:28, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
I told you before about Ksamil in Southern Albania, not Corinth. A reliable published source about Examilia. There must be also thousands of hits on Google books. It is not the first time you bring up arguments like this one [2]. See also the discussion regarding "mention, not use" in Markos Botsaris' talkpage. Beserks (talk) 12:26, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
The specific googlesearch was precise about Εξαμιλια+Αλβανία [[3]]. Suppose you didn't noticed that, so the misunderstanding on the topic is over.Alexikoua (talk) 18:03, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
Seems you are inventing every week a new 'argument' in order to perform the same revert, I've added a wp:rs (Eu. Parliament) and this is about the Albanian place name.Alexikoua (talk) 14:23, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
Is that Albania (Balkans) or Albania (Caucasus), because the Peninsula of Albania doesn't make any sense to me. BTW, if you insist to use the Official Guide of the Municipality of Himara, you will have no objections in using the Official data of the Albanian Institute of Statistical Information, INSTAT regarding the number of Greeks in Albania. Beserks (talk) 06:30, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
What has this to do with touristic information? Alexikoua (talk) 13:01, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
Ksamil/Examilio is also the name of the peninsula [[4]] (Conrith and Caucasus is irrelevant), in which the village is built on.Alexikoua (talk) 13:16, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
