Photo of the artifact?

- So, the Journal of the Polynesian Society' has this image [1] in an article by "the editors" from 1929. I think it is out of copyright based on the explanation of the rules on commons. If they were unknown authors then the rule is 50 years since publication; if they are known authors then it is 50 years since their death, so they would have to have been dead before 1973. According to the journal's website, the editors were Elsdon Best (died 1931) and Johannes Carl Andersen (died 1962). I'd appreciate a second opinion on this from someone more familiar with the rules.
- Based on the case of Te Uenuku, I doubt that Tainui would allow a more recent image in the public domain; I understand them to be wary of signing away rights to their treasures. Furius (talk) 12:18, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
