Write something about the Kootenay Lake Crossing, which was obviously according List of spans in 1962.

Fish and wildlife

[edit]

Perhaps a section of the types of fish and other wildlife found in and around the lake, and some info about the number of fish that people catch in the lake each year. Also, I know there was some problem with industrial pollution years ago that affected certain species...I'll see if I can find some info on that. Nihola (talk) 20:34, 15 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Reviewer: Bernstein2291 (Talk Contributions Sign Here) 17:27, 4 March 2011 (UTC) I've reviewed the article and here are my comments.[reply]

GA review (see here for criteria)
  1. It is reasonably well written.
a (prose): b (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, and lists):
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (references): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR):
I like your references, but there needs to be references for first three sentences of Dikes and Dams, as well as the Settlements around the lake.
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects): b (focused):
it isn't long enough. There needs to be more information about the lake, especially the history. You could merge the sections about Pollution and Dams and the second paragraph of Fauna into the history section if you wanted to.
  4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
  6. It is illustrated by images, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free images have fair use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
There are not enough photographs. Though if the text is improved, photographs wouldn't be essential.
  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:
I'm going to put this on hold for around a week. If it doesn't qualify for a GA by then, I'm going to fail it.

I'm going to fail it for now. I hope this article will be improved soon. Bernstein2291 (Talk Contributions Sign Here) 03:30, 5 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Commons image from British Library Canadian holdings

[edit]

is among the images just made available on the Commons from the British Library. That's the filename on the Commons, this is the URL for it, no time just now to look as to where to put it, but obviously worth having on this page, maybe on the provincial article (if there is one). Once there is a Steamboats of Kootenay Lake and the Kootenai River article, this image would obviously be ideal for it.Skookum1 (talk) 14:27, 3 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
