Is the film within a film "Nation's Pride" from I. B. drawn from this? – SJ + 12:57, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
Why this is classed as a propaganda film is quite strange. Yes, it contains obvious references to German nationalism and has war themes which are pertinent, however it is no more a propagandist piece than any John Wayne movie! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.43.227.18 (talk) 03:18, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
It was propagandist in that it records the (incorrect) historical defence of Kolberg, which weeks after the release of the film became a "fortress city" (defended). The message is that the "citizens army" (Germans), must fight on, whatever the losses (and they will ultimately see victory). "The storm breaks out" references the "Volkssturm", "people's militia" or "peoples storm", set up in October 1944. Pure propaganda was not used after 1942, in cinematic production by Goebbels. The films were escapist with a propagandic message. 86.149.92.221 (talk) 23:09, 8 July 2014 (UTC)
Crown of Otto I, shown in the film
[edit]Could be the actual one. Colors hard to make out. Even with colors wrong (which would be because of the film, deterioration), the gems, the structure of the frame, they look the same. Wikipedia comment https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Imperial_Crown_of_the_Holy_Roman_Empire says "Nothing about its Nazi-era sojourn in Nürnberg (Nuremberg)?" 81.151.166.208 (talk) 21:46, 2 May 2017 (UTC)
It is the actual one, brought to the movie set, according to Harlan.
