Talk:Knight or Dame of St Andrew
This page was proposed for deletion by MaximusWikipedian (talk · contribs) on 28 April 2021 with the comment: There are already Knight of St Andrew (Barbados) and Dame of St Andrew (Barbados) articles, and the meaning of this grade is already explained in the Order of Barbados article, thus this article serves no purpose, and has no references at all. It was contested by Ost316 (talk · contribs) on 2021-04-29 with the comment: Longstanding page and nominator does not indicate that it is non-notable. Knight of St Andrew (Barbados) and Dame of St Andrew (Barbados) are new redirects, so they have not been and are not duplicating any content on this page. Order of Barbados mentions this topic, but it is also not duplicating the content. There is a reference on this page and WP:DELETIONISNOTCLEANUP. |

Order of St Andrew??
[edit]As far as I can tell, there is no such thing as a Barbadian “Order of St Andrew”. There is a “Knight or Dame of St Andrew”, which is an award within the Order of Barbados [1], [2]. It looks to me if the Order of St. Andrew article is a ring-in and should be deleted. -- JackofOz (talk) 21:34, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
- Confirmed - no such order. See this discussion. I'm renaming this article. -- JackofOz (talk) 20:59, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
- My apologies - I think this was originally my error...
- If it's a subsidiary of the Order of Barbados, wouldn't it be simplest just to merge it in there? Shimgray | talk | 22:36, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

External links modified
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Knight or Dame of St Andrew. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}}

Deprodding
[edit]I'm deprodding this article. Knight of St Andrew (Barbados) and Dame of St Andrew (Barbados) are new redirects and not articles, so they are not duplicating any content on this page. I would think that they should target this page instead of Order of Barbados. Moreover, while "Order" mentions this page, it is also not duplicating the content. If it is believed that this page should not exist, an alternative resolution should be proposed (e.g., merging or nominating at Articles for Deletion). —Ost (talk) 02:29, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
