[edit]I believe the assertion that this was used bu Itlia terrorists is wrong.
During the seventies armed groups were used to "gambizzare" people believed to be colluded with the "system". "Gambizzare" means to shoot some bullets at the legs as form of punishment. This was usually done ith a pistol or a small machine gun at short range.
Though similar to kee-capping I think it cannot be listed here.
What does GNBD stand for?
- Global New Business Development
- As [1] notes: "Limb punishment shooting would be a more accurate term, especially as several victims have had this punishment extended to include both elbows and both ankles." Apparently they're similar from a medical standpoint, and sometimes from an attacker standpoint. So it wouldn't hurt if this article was a little more inclusive. --Interiot 18:55, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
- If we're going to include other limb shootings, we might want to create a new article and have 'knee-capping' as a redirect. Geoff B 22:38, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
Which is it?
[edit]The lead says "... damage the knee joint and kneecap" the body says "Contrary to popular belief, the patella (knee cap) is usually not injured..." both are sourced. But they can't both be right, can they? Barque (talk) 01:05, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
