Grace Marks?
[edit]Not sure if there is another Grace Marks, and we need a fixed link, but more than likely I should just remove the bit about her being a current inmate (near 200 years old). Figured I'd let anyone who may object go right ahead first.InedibleHulk (talk) 06:23, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
- No objections. Text is fixed.--BCtalk to me 19:00, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
Riot in 1954
[edit]Someone put in a bogus entry about a riot in 1953. There is a lot of misinformation out there in the "This Day in History" sites. I don't trust them. Get corroborating information before entering such dubious claims into an article. I have it from 3 reliable sources that the riot referred to happened in 1954. You need to go directly to archives of newspapers of the day to get the facts. I will try to put something together on this as soon as I can summarize the facts. No baseball game was canceled (that idea was already taken by "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.") However, the riot may have started during a baseball game held in the exercise yard. --Skol fir (talk) 19:41, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
- I was able to dig up some newspaper articles on this riot in 1954. I entered the appropriate information and citations to the article. --Skol fir (talk) 01:43, 10 April 2011 (UTC)
Escapes
[edit]Two escapes are listed.
If #2 (Ty Conn) was “the first to succeed since 1958” there would seem to have been at least one additional escape between #1 (Red Ryan) in 1923 and #2 (Ty Conn in 1999). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Asawyer (talk • contribs) 17:16, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
- Try a search like https://www.google.ca/search?q=kingston+penitentiary+escape&tbm=nws&tbs=ar:1 as there is a long history of escapes or attempts, many of which ended in recapture after a brief taste of freedom. One such incident involved three robbers in 1947: http://www.thewhig.com/2013/09/20/noted-desperadoes-and-probably-armed-the-great-1947-escape-from-kingston-penitentiary K7L (talk) 02:05, 25 September 2013 (UTC)
