Kingsport → Kingsport (disambiguation)
Kingsport → redirect to Kingsport, Tennessee –– The city in Tennessee is clearly the primary topic by a huge margin. The only other cities by this name are a city in Nova Scotia, which the former receives nearly 20 times more average daily views, and a fictional city by H.P. Lovecraft. Not convinced per WP:USPLACE you have proposed a WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT because the article has to remain at Kingsport, Tennessee but what is the real benefit here for anyone? In ictu oculi (talk) 09:22, 19 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose per WP:USPLACE. For places that are not listed on the AP Stylebook (places on the AP Stylebook don't need state modifier/disambiguation), we use Placename, State. This has been the policy for all US place articles on English Wikipedia. Only a policy change at Village Pump would allow this requested move. However, I do support WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT: redirect Kingsport to Kingsport, Tennessee with a hatnote for other Kingsport names. CookieMonster755 ✉ 01:43, 27 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
- Change to Support – excuse me for my error of judgement. After examining the request move more carefully, I see that Kingsport would redirect to Kingsport, Tennessee, with no change to that article.
