Notability?
[edit]This man's life was brief and uneventful, but his death sparked a series of civil unrests in various cities and eventually the cancellation of a public works project which was already under construction. Sounds notable to me. 72.106.157.86 (talk) 03:10, 7 November 2017 (UTC)
I do not think this page should be in wikipedia
[edit]It would be better to include this section into a wider page about the contestations in France when this person died. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thechouchou (talk • contribs) 15:43, 9 January 2018 (UTC)
Squatting
[edit]Hey @Mujinga would this go in WP:Squatting as it was apart of the "ZAD du testet occupation? I wasn't sure. SP00KYtalk 22:10, 29 March 2023 (UTC)
- Hellos - I'm ambivalent on that, I see I have edited the page in the past and didn't add him then. Or I forgot! If you to add him feel free. Cheers, Mujinga (talk) 13:29, 30 March 2023 (UTC)
- I'm ambivalent if this page should exist in general. It appeared only to really to exist to push a narrative that Fraisse was hit in the head with a 'stun grenade' or 'flash bang' and died, (just a simple case of bad luck you see, who could have predicted this!). a false narrative that the right love to push incidentally. Maybe that is the only reason this paged existed? I have not looked through the history very closely but i do not think Fraisse is notable on his own decontextualized from the site and the campaign. That is to say, this article is not really about Rémi Fraisse the man, it is about The Death of Rémi Fraisse. fr.wikipedia has https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manifestation_des_25_et_26_octobre_2014_contre_le_barrage_de_Sivens with a section on the death, this which i personally think is much better. Do you think it would be a notable event enough to translate in to english? I would very much like to do it if so, (maybe on a new account because of, well, this hellish, kafaqueske website. but nonetheless), my main concern is that if someone, either maliciously or in good faith, comes along and just decides it is not enough noteworthy. Cheers. :) SP00KYtalk 16:47, 30 March 2023 (UTC)
- Hmmm I'm not sure ... currently we have Sivens Dam with a section on Zad du Testet, which redirects there. Plus this article on Fraisse, which I agree should probably be titled Death of Rémi Fraisse or possibly Killing of Rémi Fraisse. Do we then need an article on the demonstration as well? You could start off by building up either this page or Sivens Dam then splitting off when the section has grown big enough? There certainly seems to be enough sources to draw on from the French article. Cheers, Mujinga (talk) 17:30, 30 March 2023 (UTC)
- Hey @W1tchkr4ft 00: how about translating this one about recent events? Mujinga (talk) 10:40, 20 April 2023 (UTC)
- Sorry, did not see your other reply. Thanks. Yes, i would love to do this. What made me gon and check out the article on Fraise (and so mad about the lies in it) was actually the two poor comrades that were in comas from the anti-megabsin protests. :) I have some personal stuff going on, an unexpected death of a family member, so i am pretty 'untethered' atm, but this is certainly something I will at least attempt, it may just take me a little as my head is all over the place. I guess what i am trying to say is, yea, i will be very happy to translate this article over, just do not expect it in a super timely manner. :) Thanks @Mujinga! ^_^ SP00KYtalk 20:01, 20 April 2023 (UTC)
- Ah, condolences. The megabasins could be a nice project, but there's no rush. Best wishes, Mujinga (talk) 21:29, 20 April 2023 (UTC)
