notable player has played at the top level of rugby league in australia

Write it in the article and provide sources. If the article was incomplete, you should have created it in a user subpage, and not directly into article namespace. As it looks right now, the article will probably get deleted. Warrior4321 01:06, 30 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Descent

[edit]

Gordon's mother may have been born in the Philippines but that doesn't make Gordon of Filipino descent. The reference states his mother came here on a Chinese passport. For all you know she wasn't a Philippines resident. Material needs to be properly verified and not inferred.  florrie  04:13, 30 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lead

[edit]

Gordon's family and all the descent stuff does relate to his playing career as it gives evidence for eligibility for representative games. That's the only reason it is in the article as it is irrelevant in itself. Gordon's brother is non-notable and I'm not sure why he would be in the lead at all - or even the article.  florrie  04:28, 30 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

MOS

[edit]

MOS:1STABBR indicates that on the first occurrence of an abbreviation it should be introduced with the full expression, ie. "National Rugby League (NRL)". Introducing a secondary link to the same target adds another MOS issue (duplink) and does not resolve the original, since readers should not have to follow links to understand abbreviations.
