An Entertaining Story
[edit]I found this story while doing research on lantern shields. It may or may not be a factually accurate account of a duel involving Sir Kenelm Digby. I was wondering if it should be added as a interesting tidbit under his history section as I didn't see any mention of it. I'm not a regular editor so I didn't feel comfortable making alterations to the main page unannounced.

Relationship of Kenelm to John
[edit]This article states that Kenelm Digby (1603–1665) is the nephew of John Digby, 1st Earl of Bristol (1580–1653). It seems the only source for this information is a work of fiction, A Stain In The Blood. According to a geneology website, Kenelm Digby and John Digby appear to be fourth cousins, with their most recent common patrilineal ancestor being Everard Digby, Lord of Tilton, etc. (1440–1510). I did not check maternal lines, other than to confirm the alleged relationship (uncle-nephew) is unsupported. – Smallus Editus (talk) 19:44, 14 May 2020 (UTC)
Catholicism and Civil War
[edit]I recently elaborated on parts of this section out of interest. Some of this information was recently elaborated on in external sources so I thought it would be best to put them in here. If anyone else is interested enough, maybe more could be added? SaltineCreature (talk) 23:42, 22 February 2023 (UTC)
