Comment
[edit]I heard Ken Venturi had a TV show where he advocated the "Ken Venturi Skip Shot."
As you can imagine, it was him skipping a golf ball across a water hazard. It was an alternative for lofting it over the water. Anyone have a copy of this?
Ken Venturi has died.
[edit]Ken Venturi is reported to have died today May 17, 2013 in Rancho Mirage. Just changed the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by HandIsNotNookls (talk • contribs) 03:24, 18 May 2013 (UTC)
- I've removed the Find a Grave link from the EL section. The link does not have a photo of the crypt and the Forest Lawn find link http://forestlawn.com/find/#results does not have Venturi listed. – S. Rich (talk) 04:09, 19 January 2014 (UTC)
Longest broadcasting streak
[edit]I saw this today while reading one of the articles on his recent passing. "He would comment on golf for 35 years, the longest such broadcasting streak in any sport." I have looked through the references and searched for other articles. What was his specific achievement? Vin Scully has been broadcasting for the Dodgers for 63 years, having started well before Venturi started and continuing until at least Friday night when I listened to him.Autkm (talk) 21:05, 18 May 2013 (UTC)
As nobody commented on this and Vin Scully has 25 years on Ken Venturi, I removed this erroneous comment. Feel free to add what his specific achievement was as I suspect he did set some remarkable achievement. Autkm (talk) 23:31, 12 July 2013 (UTC)
- Returned with clarification. Tewapack (talk) 00:47, 13 July 2013 (UTC)
