Nationality.

Anyone got a source for is he American Iraqi or is he an Iraqi citizen? Kyle Andrew Brown 06:03, 20 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Contestant

Since he is in the final voting, I kinda think he continues as a contestant in that that is his "title" for the show. Are there precedents in the main article BB? What think all? Kyle Andrew Brown 18:37, 20 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

what's his middle name? And how is his name transliterated into Arabic? --Revolución (talk) 02:24, 21 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Please try to keep the tone of the article neutral. This is an encyclopedia, not a recap site. Thanks. Quicksandish 21:08, August 29, 2005 (UTC)

You seem to be unduly touchy about what you feel is POV. Some of what you took out is exactly what was shown on TV and discussed in interviews. --66.149.92.242 21:22, 29 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Actually it was a quote from what Kaysar was shown saying to Eric.
Actually the entire design of the Big Brother USA site is actually a "recap".
Julie said Kaysay got 5 million votes.
Quicksandish, do you and I need to go to the Diary Room and work this out? :)Kyle Andrew Brown 21:43, 29 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Naah, that's all right.  :) I'll take your word for it that it was 5 million votes. The problem is the statements like "Kaysar did a fantastic job of blindsiding Eric" or characterizing Michael and Eric as "stubborn" or "hotheaded". Just because something was brought up on television does not make it neutral; including terms like these is definitely POV, as discussed here and here. And my point about the recap was that recappers often inject their personal views into the summaries -- they'd be extremely boring to read otherwise. Quicksandish 22:00, August 29, 2005 (UTC)

As being a tad more than passingly familar with this season of BB, I can pitch in that Julie did say 5 million. "Hotheaded" might be POVish, but it would be difficult at best to describe personalities without using such terms. Also, "hotheaded" is doing him a kindness. Most viewers of BB6 would pay BIG money to see Eric fed alive to a pit full of flesh-eating shrews. He was that popular <g>.--Firedrake 02:52, 30 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
When I opened up this article I did use descriptives for the houseguests, like the hunky hothead Eric. One editor said let's take out hunk, so we did. But the style of this article in applying adjectives to describe contestants and to evaluate the contests was actually not to promote a POV but to provide depth to who the houseguests and their actions was. That informs in a manner which is technique unique to biography.
I think when an encyclopedia writes about a fictional character on the level of Edgar Allen Poe it would be appropriate to describe the characters with some adjectival depth in order to convey the dyanamics of the artform. The form of BB retelling is conducive, I suggest, to be adjectival in editorial presentation. A reader that reads, "John voted out Mary" tells us actually nothing about John, Mary or the dynamic that led to the vote. So I suggest in Kaysar we develop a model for overcoming the blankness of "John voted out Mary" in order to provide true depth to the record. And record is what the article is. I have endeavored in this article to assure that adjectival attachments to people and events are supported by the events of the episode.
For the moment it has been lost that "Kaysar was popular even though he was evicted." I suggest that is a correct reading of the episode and illustrates that strategy - he was a strategic threat - tossed him out, rather than character clashes. I sugggest it speaks to his character.Kyle Andrew Brown 03:11, 30 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Kaysar was subjected to considerable racism by Ivette. Why was that not mentioned?

I can see where you're coming from, and I apologize for that. Hopefully we can edit a bit more character back into the article. Truce? :) Quicksandish 03:38, August 30, 2005 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Bb6kaysar.jpg

[edit]

Image:Bb6kaysar.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.
