question...
[edit]what year was she born? :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by PolaroidGirl (talk • contribs) 21:25, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
The page states that she was born in Cork, Ireland... However....
[edit].. in the attached interview on The Late Late Show on RTE (Irish Television) on 21 Feb 1981, she herself does not mention this. She states that she is 3rd generation Irish American, and the only time she had previously been in Ireland was on a plane from Italy (presumably to the USA) which made an emergency landing in Shannon Airport Ireland.
See from 4m 08s in the following interview from the RTE Archive

- In the interview, he asks her where she's from, not where she was born. She does say she's third generation, but doesn't say Irish American-- just that she's third generation Irish, responding to the interviewer's query about how far back her family's Irish roots lay. If we were going to speculate, I'd guess that she (as someone who grew up almost entirely Irish American) didn't want to risk looking like she was falsely claiming her "Irishness" or trying to exaggerate it, especially on Irish television. But that's just my guess.
- In any case, the citation for her birthplace comes from a published Tom Waits biography, which I would hold above whatever she decided to say (or in this case, not to say) in an interview. Violetstork (talk) 06:32, 7 August 2024 (UTC)
No evidence that their children live at home
[edit]The article extrapolates from the referenced source that they live in Northern California with their three children. While it is correct that it lists three Children, and it is correct that they live in Northern California, nothing in the source says that their children live with them. Given that they're pushing 40, it actually seems pretty unlikely. I mean I know real estate is expensive these days, but still...
