At the time of formation, KMC Mangalore and KMC Manipal were the same colleges (preclinical course in Manipal and Clinical in Mangalore) but eventually, they both became independent of one another with KMC, Manipal starting its own Clinical course and KMC, Mangalore its own pre clinical course.
