How many Upholders?

The article repeatedly mentions that the British offer was of six Upholder-class boats. But only four were ever built. The 1992 decision to move to a purely nuclear submarine force meant that the remaining planned boats were never even ordered and the four existing boats in service were retired by 1994, with the navy seeking buyers for them. Therefore only the four existing boats could have been offered for sale. Any additional ones would have had to have been built specially, either in British yards, or in Pakistani yards under license. If so, this would presumably have changed the whole nature of the British offer and its appeal. Or has an error been made, and really only four Upholders were offered, the boats that the Royal Navy was looking to sell off? 82.39.49.182 (talk) 11:21, 16 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
