The following sentence contains wrong information: 'After World War I, Kapan became part of the short-lived independent Republic of Armenia between 1918 and 1920.'
It should be changed to: Kapan was part of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic between 1918 and 1920 and not of Armenia. Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic was forced to cede Zangezur and Kapan to Armenia during the Soviet Period in 1921.
Just for information: Armenians also wanted to acquire Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, but thanks to Treaty of Kars and Treaty of Moscow, they could not achieve their nasty ambitions. Otherwise, they would be writing Nakhchivan was also part of 1918 Armenia right now...
I edited with the below provided sources the material several times, but the other users keep reverting it by deleting my sources and without providing any source. If no action is taken, I will keep editing again with my own way!
- You forgot to mention the part where you removed information and an image because it didn't support your POV. Also, at least two of the sources you added aren't RS. The third one doesn't even have a page cited. You are now threatening to be disruptive, go ahead, and let's see if you can get yourself blocked, if not banned. --HistoryofIran (talk) 17:36, 21 March 2020 (UTC)
- In any ways, it is better than showing no reference with bunch of nonsense and wrong information. I have provided 4 sources, but you have none. You cannot have any source as this territory belonged to Azerbaijan. Besides, I did not remove any image, but that wrong information appearing in the text. There are of course many wrong information here. But what I consider important to be fixed at this point is the one cited by me. You better read my sources carefully. Recent page move
[edit]Apologies for the recent page move. The reason for the recent page move from "Kapan" to "Kafan" is that another editor, off-wiki, wanted to test why this article could not be moved to Kafan. It turns out they were trying to move another article. As an uninvolved editor, I immediately reverted my own move, and am leaving this matter to those who have worked on this page. epicgenius (talk) 18:13, 21 March 2020 (UTC)
Edition and sources
[edit]- Hello, I inserted missed information. In 1930 the Soviets established raion in Armenian Soviet Republic as Kafan raion and in 1936 the city as Kafan. Kapan is since 1991. It refers to history of the city. --Aydin mirza (talk) 02:46, 29 August 2021 (UTC)
- ZaniGiovanni, what's wrong again? Nobody call the city Kafan now, but this article about the history of the city. As we do in similar articles(like Shusha, when we remind all names), all names should be noted. As regards to reliebility, both sources are soviet or Russian, one of them is soviet encyclopedi. Pls, don't undo before you discuss on this Page.--Aydin mirza (talk) 21:15, 29 August 2021 (UTC)
hello,ZaniGiovanni. Let's discuss(as I understand, only you are able to revert in this Project)So reply, pls, my question above. Why can't I insert any info refers to history (with relieble sources)in one articles, in the same time it's acceptable in the similar article with non-neutral dources considering that controvercial subject? Pls,try shortly reply, because instead of arguments I see only coatching of rules etc. Aydin Mirza Aydin mirza (talk) 22:25, 30 August 2021 (UTC)
Let's discuss(as I understand, only you are able to revert in this Project)
- Continue casting WP:ASPERSIONS I'm sure that'll look good in ANI. I already explained to you Wikipedia guidelines very clearly in Talk:Shusha#Edit the Article, but it seems like you still don't comprehend. Let me repeat and read very carefully as I'm not going to repeat for the 10th time:
- WP:ONUS to achieve WP:CONSENSUS for inclusion is on those seeking to include disputed content. You weren't supposed to re-revert when you get reverted, do you understand that or not? It's on you to achieve consensus for your changes per WP:CONSENSUS WP:ONUS, especially when your changes are disrupting the article and breaching WP:UNDUE.
Why can't I insert any info refers to history (with relieble sources)in one articles, in the same time it's acceptable in the similar article with non-neutral dources considering that controvercial subject?
Pls,try shortly reply, because instead of arguments I see only coatching of rules etc.
- Are you able to read english or not? The info is already in the appropriate section of the article Kapan#Modern_history, I'm showing this to you second time now [1].
- Now for the argument (that you don't see somehow) and the lead change itself: A 60y.o Soviet era name doesn't have the WP:DUE weight to be included in the lead of the article with this town's historic and common name Kapan, do you understand that or not? I already explained this to you in my edit description [2], but it seems like your Google Translate english doesn't allow you to understand my explanation as you're asking the same questions. Maybe learn English before contributing to en-wikipedia. It's already included in the section it belongs, see Kapan#Modern_history. It doesn't have the WP:DUE weight to be included in the lead of the article.
- As for your flawed comparison, Shushi in fact has the WP:DUE weight to be included in the lead, that's why it's included. And you should read this discussion why Shushi is in BOLD and included in the lead [3]. Maybe you'll stop making flawed comparisons and think rationally instead of pushing your POV everywhere. ZaniGiovanni (talk) 12:43, 31 August 2021 (UTC)
- no need to be repeated as I told earlier. Don't worry, I understand, but you prefer to turn the discussion into farce. You write huge text reg revert and re-revert, and I don't do it now. As nobody joins to this Talk Page, no point in continuing. It'd be nice to take an example from German Project, maybe you could understand what neutral point of view, WP:DUE and etc mean. I'll back when someone comes with constructive view and approach. Aydin Mirza Aydin mirza (talk) 13:24, 31 August 2021 (UTC)

Zaven Korkotyan
[edit]Who is Zaven Korkotyan by profession and why is a century old outdated book used here? Needs a reliable modern source with academic publication and author, not some no name. Also the historical construction of Kapan into villages is barely if any relevant or notable to the article, nor does it constitute taking up such a large part of it. And it's not improvement or notable to highlight a single year in such space from the vast history of this town KhndzorUtogh (talk) 23:29, 28 February 2023 (UTC)
