Speedy Deletion

[edit]

Keep There is more to this article. Don't assume that this is all the information about this District. It is a new entermainment district and all the facts are not all correct.

Speedy Delete I find nothing notable about this article. Also employs an image with a lack of a proper license. The article bears no significance as well. In addition, as already admitted by the articles author (see above), most of the information on the page is incorrect. Also, information on the page is unsourced. ⒺⓋⒾⓁⒼⓄⒽⒶⓃ talk 20:08, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Stop deleting what I put on the article. There is NO reason for you to delete the information I put on this article because it is NOT incorrect information. Thus, the more information I put on this article about the new entertainment district the more interesting it becomes. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Visionordream (talkcontribs)

It's not going to be deletewd, but please stop adding sections on the Sprint Center and the H&R Block - we already have articles on those, if you have any information to add on those buildings, please put them in the appropriate articles. Thanks. Neil  08:33, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There was nothing wrong with my last change so please change it back to the way I had it. The Sprint Center was to show that at the location you will see that building across the street. That was the last change for the page about the Power & Light District so return everything to where they were before you changed it again. Visionordream 20:38, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Once again, the article is about the Power & Light District. The Sprint Center already has an article (with pictures). Precious Roy 20:51, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Don't do anymore changes from what I did. Visionordream 03:33, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please take the time to read this. Precious Roy 13:10, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What is the point when whoever keeps erasing what I put on the pages? All I wanted to do was make the pages more interesting by putting pictures and writing on them. I think I will stop doing this now because everything I will ever put on pages will get erased. Visionordream 03:17, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm surprised you didn't erase the Transportation section and why did you erase the Construction photos? Visionordream 03:22, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Alcohol Section?

[edit]

Is this info correct? Are there any sources? --buzlink 02:39, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the sources all are cited. I just added another to make you happy.65.28.9.8 20:59, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Are there any verifiable sources online? Since there are none provided, I'll probably remove most of this pending some on line reliable sources. Vegaswikian (talk) 17:12, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia does not require that cited sources be online in order for them to be valid references. The KC Star takes all of its articles off-line after 30 days. The KC Code of Ordinances and Revised Statutes of Missouri are online and if you care to do so, you can find the cited provisions. All of this fits Wikipedia standards. Do not delete that section.65.28.9.8 (talk) 08:16, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You can not drink on the streets of P and L. You can drink outside but you are not allowed to take it to the stret area —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.143.43.33 (talk) 17:00, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Controversy

[edit]

Perhaps a section should be added about some of the controversial decisions made about this project. For instance, Danny Edwards BBQ, a long-time downtown resident and a genuine example of Kansas City's famous Bar-B-Que, has been forced to relocate. The BBQ tenant for the Power and Light District is not from Kansas City. If not Edwards, why not Gates, Aurthur Bryant's, Rosedale or any of the dozens of other excellent Kansas City BBQ joints? I agree... There is also the restaurant (who's name I forget) relocated from the 18th and vine district to P&L. Another one is the intrusive computerized id scans for anyone entering the "Live!" area during certain times, without informing patrons what those scans are being used for. --Subversionarts (talk) 22:06, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think that that this article needs to be flagged for bais and lack of neutrality...the controversy surrounding this project has been really overlooked and the article's bias makes me think that Cordish wrote it.Atkc (talk) 17:09, 14 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think it should be flagged for bais and lack of neutrality...for exactly the opposite reason. There's an entire section that just criticizes Cordish based on a few isolated sources even though even though there is no legal basis for such claims, and the majority of patrons have expressed their support of Cordish policies. Additionally, the computerized ID scans are (1) not proven to be a privacy violation, and (2) not mandatory. BlueGold73 (talk) 02:39, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I believe that since it is named "Kansas City Power & Light District" there should be reference to how much energy is use to entertain this midwest monstrosity. At what point will Kansas City catch up with the idea that even former president bush had to admit, you are wasting energy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dfxbedard (talkcontribs) 21:55, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia isn't the place to push your political agenda. Besides, the P&L Distrcit contains many green initiatives, including an energy-generating wind turbine as a centerpiece. BlueGold73 (talk) 23:18, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

BlueGold73 is probably publicist for the P&L and should be locked out of editing the criticism section. He/she continually reverts the criticism section to make it appear unsubstantiated, while in reality, among the critics of P&L's policies have been CITY COUNSEL MEMBERS. Outrageous. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.166.174.143 (talk) 01:18, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If anyone should be locked out, it should be people who remove sourced information and replace it with broad statements instead of specific facts in an attempt to stir up controversy. BlueGold73 (talk) 04:26, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Right. Among the critics are city counsel members. Starting the paragraph with "local comic book artist" is a complete sham. go back to tearing tix at Vivino. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.166.174.143 (talk) 23:53, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Tenets

[edit]

A listing of tenets is not really appropriate for a Wikipedia article. Notable tenets, especially those with articles, should and can be incorporated into prose about the district. Non-notable tenets such as Chipotle and other franchise chains should be removed. If somebody who is more familiar with the article wants to take that on, heres your chance. If its unchanged in a few days I'll probably tackle it myself. Thanks and feel free to respond at my talk page. Grey Wanderer (talk) 23:16, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
