Nation question
[edit]Does nation represent place of birth or national team they play for? For example Sophie Braun was born in Oregon, USA, but plays for Argentina. I put ARG for her nation as that is who she will be called up for. What is the standard for soccer pages for dual nationals? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ctsinclair (talk • contribs) 17:09, 11 February 2024 (UTC)

KC NWSL → Kansas City NWSL – "KC NWSL" is an abbreviation; every official press release from the team and most news reports use either "Kansas City NWSL" (or simply "Kansas City" when the league is assumed and does not need to be noted) as WP:COMMONNAME. - KC NWSL → FC Kansas City – "KC NWSL" or Kansas City NWSL" is basically still the same club as "FC Kansas City": it just moved twice (to Utah and now back to KC), but it's technically the same franchise. It's not an expansion team. We should merge the two articles into one and then change the title using the current team's name.--LafayetTheAwesomeOne (talk) 17:13, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
- LafayetTheAwesomeOne is absolutely incorrect on this point; it has been discussed and documented extensively elsewhere. Both Utah Royals and KC NWSL are officially expansion clubs. Seany91 (talk) 19:46, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
Support for the reasons given by the OP -- Pemilligan (talk) 16:34, 31 January 2021 (UTC)
Also Support - NWSL website has the team listed as "Kansas City NWSL," as do most press releases on the team's page. Lieutenant pepper (talk) 22:16, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
Support, for the reasons given by Lieutenant pepper, as does the official NWSL website. -- Ajax.amsterdam.fan (talk) 21:38, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
