"In his training fight with Sakura and Naruto they are astounded at the pace he forms seals - using a 41 seal jutsu in less than 2 seconds." Is there a reference for this bit of information? It was not in the manga so I am guessing the anime? Hash2o (talk) 19:38, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Other Scarecrow meaning?

On the back of kakashi's ninga dogs they have a henohenomoheji face ( face made form 7 hiragana letters) which is often put on scarecrow's faces. Is this another meaning to kakashi's name meaning Scarecrown in hirgana? And and i the only one who notices this? Blackcat1313 22:13, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

This is a reference to his name, yes. You're not the first to notice. –Gunslinger47 22:50, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
It said the meaning of his name in one of da 1st volumes. But which one was it?A little help here! Ingo yeah. My real name is Hades, God Of The Underclass 21:58, 19 December 2007 (UTC). (talk)

Rasengan-Chidori

"Because the Rasengan is meant to have the user's chakra nature mixed with it, Kakashi attempted to add his lightning-based chakra to it, though was ultimately unsuccessful. In time he instead created the Chidori, which has since become the only jutsu that he has not copied from someone else." That line kinda gave me the impression that he learned-or tried to learn- Rasengan when he was a kid under the Fourth; just wondering, where does it say he learned Rasengan first? I aslways assumed he learned it later...

When Naruto remarks that adding his own chakra-type to the Rasengan will be easy, Kakashi points out that, if that were really the case, he would never have needed to create the Chidori. This indicates that he knew how to perform Rasengan and tried to use it to create his own jutsu, but failed and had to make something else (Chidori) instead. Chapter 321 if you'd like to verify. ~SnapperTo 18:03, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
in chapter 321, kakashi says "Just regular shape manipulation has an A rank acquisition difficulty level. At just that level, I can somehow manage to copy it". this gives me the impression that kakashi copied the rasengan through his sharingan. Fourth was alive when he recived sharingan, so this theory is more plausible to me. Fotte —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.174.149.248 (talk) 09:58, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
Kakashi was a genius, maybe he was able to figure out how Rasengan worked from seeing it in action before he got the Sharingan and tried to replicate it, indicating how he can 'somehow manage to copy it' where with the Sharingan he'd probably be able to copy it perfectly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.142.130.24 (talk) 16:46, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
I think if he tried to replicate it before he got sharingan,he would say something like "I was able to learn it somehow", not "copy it somehow". "Copy" word involves sharingan so this sentence is wrong. I have been searching official databooks, i couldnt find any information related to subject that kakashi tried nature manipulation on rasengan first. So this information is not confirmed by the databooks and we are discussing this issue and are unable to conclude it. I suggest this sentence to be removed untill it is confirmed. Like said a few paragraph down, "We cannot speculate because we need to present accurate information." Fotte

Tsunade suggests as kage

In chapter 368 Tsunade said that kakashi would be a candidate for the next kage if she died. I believe that this should be added somewhere. Eru illuv 09:19, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Because of his abilities, Tsunade notes him to be an obvious choice for the title of Hokage should the position ever become vacant. ~SnapperTo 21:40, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Origin of the Mangekyo?

Am i just missing it or does it not mention anything about how he aquired the Mangekyo? I know that it is not known, but what about the theories that he aquired it because he witnessed Obito's death. Maybe the Mangekyo is activated at the sight of your friends death, and not because you killed them. Kinda like how the normal sharingan appears in life and death situations, maybe the Mangekyo appears when your mind is emotionally distraught at the loss of a friend....that's my theory....Kakashi The Mirror Ninja 22:48, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Nothing is known about his acquisition, thus nothing is on the article. We cannot speculate because we need to present accurate information. Guesses won't provide that. You Can't Review Me!!! 22:51, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Tensei ninjutsu?

shouldn't it be worth noting that kakashi MIGHT have copied (and subsequently mastered) chiyo's tensei ninjutsu? i mean, he did see it and had enough time to somewhat analyze it. the technique itself may be hard to learn, but taking into consideration the sharingan's abilities, as well as kakashi's genius status, it really is quite plausible that he learnt it. as we don't have any information, however, (not even implications!) we should just add a small mention stating the possibility of it. it might just make a surprise comeback later on.N Dot W 03:59, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Your analysis is original research, and thus not suitable for inclusion into the article. Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 04:00, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
Got it. I'll have to wait and see if it happens then. hehe. N Dot W 02:41, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

I dont think Sharingan cant copy all jutsu, if that is true Sasuke would know how to use Rasengan and Deidara explosives. Tintor2 14:41, 22 September 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tintor2 (talkcontribs)

Wrong the Sharingan can only copy hand seals and body movements, not Kekkei genkai, and since ranangan doesnt have hand seals he cant copy it--Blue-EyesGold Dragon 14:12, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
So Kakashi cant use the tensei ninjutsu of Chiyo. .Tintor2 17:12, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

correct. in one of the village of mist episodes on the bridge, kakashi says that he can't copy Kekkai-genkai. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.102.246.5 (talk) 01:36, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

ba-chan's jutsu wasnt a Kekkai-genkai it was just ninjutsu, but kakashi cant copy it as it has no hand seals.--Blue-EyesGold Dragon 21:10, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Kakashi's jutsus + Anime is not canon

In the manga Kakashi has only been seen using Water and Lightning based jutsus in the manga. He has actually never used "Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique" except in anime filler scenes. Is his usage of high level fire jutsus non-canon? Maxxheadcheese

What's 'canon' or not doesn't matter; so long as the content is notable, it can be included. // DecaimientoPoético 19:33, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
I think it should be noted that his use of it only appears in the anime.– Pedantic79 (talk) 03:42, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
Is noting it really that relevant? It doesn't really change the character much, considering he's the copycat ninja and probably knows nearly as much jutsu as the third... he was around when the Uchih were and fireballs were their signature attack, so he could have easily copied it, just like he easily copied Zabuza's high-level water moves. Fire is actually Konoha's elbem... Tyciol (talk) 03:17, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

A thousand years of death

This move is not mentioned in the article. Kakashi's practise of Kancho must be recognized! The move is no longer listed under jutsu either. It played a key role when Naruto used it against Gaara! Kakashi taught'm. Tyciol (talk) 03:13, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

true it is a real jutsu, but people think its just a joke think--Blue-EyesGold Dragon 21:07, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Kakashi's Father

Last year...I don't know exactly when...but it mentioned Kakashi's father's name on his page. Why did they take it off??? Just curious... Sabrina (talk) 14:10, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

GA run

Cleaned up the article a tad. The character outline section needs to be heavily reduced, and the references need to be fixed using {{cite book}}. More conception information if available wouldn't hurt either. Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 04:37, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

Could someone add these (within red boxes if it's not obvious) alongside their appropriate English counterparts? I have no way to type them in and no interest in looking for the proper characters. ~SnapperTo 05:04, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

so no info on kakashi's father other than name and suicide and couple refernces to to the mission that led to his suicide??? didnt it say somewhere that he was as great or greater than the sannin of legend? just a curios reader carsenkai and can someone explain the sign your posts 4 tildes thing im computer illiterate sorry —Preceding unsigned comment added by Carsenkai (talkcontribs) 06:11, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

Minor change -- "His new eye in tow" change

"In tow" means following behind. Obito's eye was not floating along behind Kakashi! Changed it to "his new eye in place..." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.111.231.199 (talk) 21:06, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

Mangekyo Sharingan technique officially named

According to the new databook, that technique is named Kamui (literally, Power of the Gods). I would add it, but I dont know the Kanji.--Tintor2 (talk) 15:12, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

Current events

Why we have to give kakashi the benefit of doubt, and keep denying his death, when the Jiraiya article stated his death so soon? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Souhiro (talkcontribs) 17:41, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

Kakashi death has not been confirmed. Please remove the comment until it has been confirmed in the manga! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.186.241.149 (talk) 20:13, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

Yes, you are right. We will not know until chapter 425 comes out in two weeks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ehccheehcche (talkcontribs) 20:59, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

Still unconfirmed as of 425. Given Kishimoto's propensity for red herrings regarding character death, e.g. Chouji following his fight with Jirobo and Sasuke in the Haku fight, implication cannot be taken as confirmation. All references to his 'death' should be removed until a character in the manga irrevocably refers to Kakashi as deceased. Until then, details of the fight need to remain vague. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Asbartle (talkcontribs) 15:48, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

His chances for having survived are slim-to-none, judging by Tsunade's reaction when the slug found him. Still, I hope his chit-chat with his dad's ghost turns out to be nothing more than a near-death experience and he survives. Still, Pain's final attack leaves in question exactly how many people (and by that I mean main characters) survived. 75.157.91.25 (talk) 09:28, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

In the most recent chapter it was shown that one of the giant slugs clones protected his body, which may show he is still in fact alive, but we wont know until its confirmed. Also for the record Pain's final attack caused damage, but noone has been killed by it. 142.165.39.181 (talk) 21:44, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

I would think he is dead, by Tsunade's reaction, and Naruto's claim that he can't sense Kakashi's chakra in chapter 431. --Pstanton 21:18, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

It is still not CONFIRMED confirmed that he is dead, although all the indications point to that. Nonetheless, I think it is better to point out that there is a POSSIBILITY that he is dead, rather than just say he suffered a simple defeat. It wasn't a run-of-the-mill defeat, he was steamrolled and hung out to dry. -[Not sure how to sign this]

Of course Naruto can't sense his chakra, Kakashi mentioned before he used the Mangekyou Sharingan to save Choji that it would deplete all of his remaining chakra, but there still is a possibility that Kakashi could survive. 67.184.40.44 (talk) 00:48, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

Shouldn't there be at least something about Kakashi's death being implied by the other characters? 78.145.221.138 (talk) 05:15, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, there could be something like "and apparently killed" --213.39.128.171 (talk) 06:23, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
That's what I added but was reverted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.174.199.15 (talk) 18:54, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
None of the characters have explicitly said "I think Kakashi is dead." We know he is out of chakra, and Naruto has said as such. If someone claims he is dead, then we shall put it, until then we have put what we DO know, he battled Pain and lost, anything else is WP:OR. DaisukeVulgar (talk) 19:36, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Chapter 425

I believe what is presented in this chapter is still too vague to call on wether he's actually croaked or not. Just figured I'd point that out to anyone thinking of jumping the gun on this one. Frequen-Z (talk) 23:23, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

"Kakashi using Lightning Blade" picture

If I am not mistaken is that not Sasuke's Chidori attack? As I recall the Chidori was taught to sasuke by Kakashi Sensei NarSakSasLee (talk) 18:13, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Both techniques are basically the same, but somehow they differ (possibly due Kakashi's skill with it). In the databook, Chidori is an A-ranked Jutsu, while Raikiri is S-ranked.Tintor2 (talk) 19:27, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

What databook? NarSakSasLee (talk) 23:23, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

These ones.Tintor2 (talk) 00:28, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

Regarding Chidori vs lightening blade and Kakashi's face

I think that Sasuke's Chidori, or thousand birds and Kakashi's lightening blade are exactly the same thing. It is explained during the final chunine (thats probably not spelt correctly, but you get the idea) exam by rock lee's sensei, also I would like to point out that Kakashi's face is not totally ambiguous as you get at least a second of it towards the end of episode 72 in the third hokage's montage soliloquy. thanks :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.109.183.72 (talk) 07:00, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

Hokage

Shouldn't it be noted that he is now acting hokage? Especially with Danzo dead and all. (Jvclark2 (talk) 06:38, 7 February 2010 (UTC))

Danzou is dead but Kakashi doesn`t have the official tittle yet. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jorgeazgad (talkcontribs) 02:16, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

This is late but, Kakashi is not the Hokage. He was literally 2-3 seconds away from being declared it but, the high counsel got cut-off end-sentence with news that Tsunade has became conscious right when they were saying "Kakashi, from this point onwards, you are now the new Hokage" (or whatever the exact sentence was). --174.49.122.98 (talk) 01:33, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

One Thousand Years of Death

Kakashi's technique "One Thousand Years of Death" parodies the manga of mangaka Kazuyoshi Torii. He invented the same gag called "Seven years of death". Source of info: Jason Thompson. Manga: The Complete Guide. P. 54 -- deerstop. 20:51, 21 September 2014 (UTC)

Sounds a bit trivial to include considering even that technique is a joke.Tintor2 (talk) 22:37, 21 September 2014 (UTC)
