Update needed — no longer Univision

[edit]

KEYU is no longer a Univision affiliate, and hasn't been for two years… Zap2It shows Telemundo programming instead. Before the bankruptcy of former KEYU owner Equity Media Holdings and Drewry's acquisition of the station, Telemundo was already shown by Drewry's KTMO-LP, but it sure looks like instead of running both Telemundo and Univision affiliates (as happened in Oklahoma City, when Equity's bankruptcy led to Tyler Media Group, which already owned Telemundo affiliate KTUZ-TV, buying Univision affiliate KUOK and thus creating not only a rare Telemundo-Univision duopoly, but one where the Telemundo station is run as the senior partner), KEYU has apparently become KTMO's "new" home (such as can be said for a change that happened around early 2010; KEYU's fourth-quarter 2009 children's programming report reflects the Univision affiliation, but the report for first-quarter 2010 reflects Telemundo), even though the call letters remain KEYU and not, say, KTMO-TV. In doing so, KEYU is also back to airing local news; Equity pulled news from its stations in 2008, a year before it went under, but KTMO's existing local news operation (which of course draws upon KFDA-TV's resources) obviously went with the Telemundo programming to KEYU. The open to the 10 p.m. news (as seen here) mentions "KEYU BORGER" in the bottom-of-the-screen small print where many a TV station buries its station identification, but not KTMO-LP or any of the low-power stations that went with KEYU in the Equity sell-off. Obviously some attention is required… --WCQuidditch 20:35, 24 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Done, but still with the Update template. --Mega-buses (discusión / Talk) 16:22, 13 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
